I know after a game guys can get excited or bummed over how they performed in front of a crowd. I wonder if they do even timed substitution of players in a scrimmage how the players can weigh their ability to start?

It wasn’t really how they played. It’s the depth chart and how they are utilized that made them transfer after spring games.
