Darriel Mack JR commits to UCF

This guy has the prototypical height. Coaching staff made the right choice in getting MM out on the field quick.

Mack is the highest ranked among the 3 QB's (doesn't really mean much) and is also the biggest of the 3 QB commits (maybe would help him handle more hits at the next level...as any Frost QB will get hit quite a bit with more runs than most).

Mack: 5.6 rated, 6' 3" 215 lbs
Washington: 5.4 rated, 6' 1" 185 lbs
Vedral: 5.3 rated, 6' 2" 189 lbs

Of course, these are only commitments and we will have to see come signing day if all 3 stick with your verbal to Frost.

UCF might be entering 2017 with just 1 scholarship QB with experience on the roster (Milton) so Frost is in a rush to start building up quality depth with QB's who run very similar systems in HS.

I've seen the tapes of each. It seems Vedral is the most accurate passer of the three. Washington is the most elusive runner. Mack is the best at absorbing a hit and getting yards after contact. All bring a lot of positives to the table.

Has anyone ever had 3 QBs on the field at once? I've seen 2, but 3 would be interesting.

With the amount of running that happens in this offense by the qb, 2 QBs on the field at once makes sense.

2 QBs
2 WRs
1 TE
1 RB

I would imagine that if they all end up on campus, one of the three will earn the backup role behind MM next year. The other two would most likely redshirt. That way the 4 QBs will then be spread out over 3 graduation years.

Although Milton is our best option this year I'm hoping he isn't next year unless his accuracy dramatically improves. We need Mack, Washington or Vedral to be clearly better or Milton to be able to start hitting receivers in stride

Competition should help all advance in their skills...including Milton.

Good news is that most true Freshmen in almost every position continue to improve...as he (and others that played as true freshmen) have a complete off-season, complete spring practice and off-season summer workouts under his belt prior to the start of August camp.

Being able to work for basically the next 9 months will all the returning WR/TE...Milton's timing should improve...but yes, I hope all 3 incoming QB's push him and each other...and then let the best player take snaps come 2017...but like this year...UCF has already lost 2 QB's for games due to injury (Holman and Milton) so others have to be at the ready too to step in at a moments notice.

Agree with the competition angle, but history has shown us that our freshmen starting QBs outside of Culpepper didn't get better with age. Most were bad and never got better or peaked as freshmen.

Bortles got better with a redshirt year and then PT as a redshirt Freshmen.

Holman had a good Soph season after barely playing at all as a Freshmen.

Godfrey still had a good Soph season...but teams had a lot of tape on him after 24 straight starts...and were able to slow down the offense once UCF got near the 20 yd line.

Past history with different staffs and different players doesn't mean anything at all.
