Deion Sanders linked to UCF job if Gus retires

Yeah I think the word “linked” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. One random guy that is throwing darts writing an “if Sanders were to leave Colorado” piece is not exactly what I would define as ‘linked to’.

Like others have mentioned, there will be other (more lucrative) opportunities when he leaves Boulder (which he will).

Deion is making $6 million/year. If he is jumping to another school it would be for at least $8 million/year. Which would be double what UCF is paying Malzahn.

I was skeptical but he has Colorado playing great down the stretch.

But like the article mentioned UCF is most likely to give less full control than he currently has at Colorado so for that reason alone it probably has no chance of happening.

I agree. I don't think he will go anywhere that doesn't give a free rein.

Five-star quarterback Julian Lewis, the No. 2 recruit in the 2025 ESPN 300, announced his commitment to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show."

Lewis, who had been committed to USC since August 2023, decommitted from Lincoln Riley's class Sunday. Lewis, from Carrollton, Georgia, had recently been on an unofficial visit to Georgia and showed interest in Indiana.

I don't think FSU is on the table. So just imagine him at UCF. I don't think the NFL is calling for him. So where else in Florida??

So he is going to take a pay cut to come to UCF? It's one thing to buyout Malzahn, which I think should be done. However, don't see how they are freeing up a minimum of $35-40 million to lure him away, if he wins the conference it will probably take $50+.
