Now my first thought on this is that I can't remember the last time I heard of a gun murder that involved a silencer. That's when I realized how dangerous these things are.

Now my first thought on this is that I can't remember the last time I heard of a gun murder that involved a silencer. That's when I realized how dangerous these things are.

No one outside of the movies uses suppressors unless they’re in the range environment. They make the range safer for people’s ears. Doesn’t matter, though, because the same people that scream about making trans and voting laws with “no evidence” that they’ll be exploited create laws to stem off imaginary suppressor villains silently killing people in the night. Hypocrites all around.

Of course, that article is 2 years old and that was the only instance that I can think of where someone was alleged to use a noise suppressor.

They’re not illegal, you just have to go through a more rigorous process to obtain one. Similar to short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and machine guns, you can possess them if you get a tax stamp. The tax stamp requires an application and more thorough background check and a one-time $200 fee. It takes 10 months or longer to get the stamp.
