Didn't most of this board have us 3-3 after 6 games?

We were up by 18 points at the half and didn't even kick a FG in the 2nd half. What we thought the team was 6 months ago is neither here nor there, you have to do better than that.

I predicted a 2 to 5 win season early, but the way we were playing as of late dictates our momentum. We saw how we beat ECU who had a P5 win early this year and saw how our talent overwhelmed there's regardless of errors. You rush to three wins hoping we don't have a major collapse afterwards, but with inexperience playing at this pace comes errors like last night. Perhaps we drop the rest of the games this year except maybe Tulane, but if there's a lot of positives to take out of the heartbreaks, i'll take it and hope what we learn rewards us next year...especially if we beat Ga Tech and Maryland.

I'm not freaking out. I had us 2-4 at this point. I'm pretty happy with what I've seen so far. You can see what this can turn into. Sure, we blew the Maryland and Temple games with a myriad of mistakes...turnovers, clock mismanagement, dumb penalties, etc... Hoping to see these kind of mistakes cut down each week. I've said all along Frosty has one year to get s_it together....then he can be assessed for the on-field results.

Next off season he won't have to teach the entire roster how to play in their schemes. They can start to really focus on details. Right now they are all just learning to be on the same page.

We are running just about to best case forms, I wish Tulane was not delayed. I can see 5 wins pretty simply, finding a #6 is a bit tougher.

Good article. A more positive and less controversial one after saying that Holman should have started the Maryland game and that Oregon is going to be going after Frost. The latter especially turned off a lot of fans IMO.

I think people are just disappointed. We've already won 3 more games than we did last year and I still think a bowl game isn't out of the question.

People were just starting to get hyped based on what they saw and this kind of grounded everyone. I'm sure the team will learn from it and continue to improve as the season goes on.

I'm good. Disappointed, but good. What I saw are freshman mistakes. They will be fixed.

Most apt description of the game. We have to suffer through games like this for a little while as the youth grows up and Frost gets his legs under him. Remember it's not just the players who are young. This is Frost's first major foray into head coaching too. He also is gonna have some growing pains, and we saw them here.

We did kick a FG, we just missed it wide right.

Seriously, a first year coach will have a game like this one. A game where everything went so well in the first half that karma will find a way to fukc it up in the second. It happens. I'm not happy with the result by no means, but as long as we bounce back, I don't see it as a big deal.

This is year one. Everybody needs to remember that. Our last year one was 0-11. This is much better.

Wish the Tulane game hadn't been moved because they look worse than Temple and more experience might have reduced the mistakes in this game. But Temple as a solid team and might have won anyway.

If we win @UConn next weekend then I think we can beat Tulane and Cincy at home and get to a bowl. The Huskies are looking decent but not great. The betting line will probably be within 3 points either way.

I agree. At the end of last season we would have taken a win over an FCS.
How quickly our hopes grew to a conference championship after one conference win.

If Coach Frost grows from this, it will be well worth it.

Honestly, as devastating as Saturday's loss was, I only wallowed in it for about a few hours, before I realized that perspective is needed. After going 0-12 being competitive in maybe 2 games last year, it is very refreshing and encouraging to see us at .500, competitive in every single game but one with 2 of the losses coming down to literally the last second, all while still having a chance to compete for at least the divsion crown. So, we should all take this loss in stride.

We're a freaking team again that had an opportunity to be 5-1 at this point. Coming off last year with all the changes, I think we should be grateful. Sure its disappointing that were not achieving the winning were accustomed to right away, but were damn sure getting close and improving.

Love Frost's quote that "were not far away from being a really good team and close to winning a lot of games." This loss sucks, but were on the precipice.

Let's see. Temple was ranked from 20-24 for several weeks at the end of last year until the bowl loss, was the eastern division champions, won 10 games in 2015 (we won 0), has a 4 year starter at QB, senior stud DE, lots of experience on the lines, and a senior RB who ran for 1262 yards last year.

Why were we favored by 4? Were we supposed to win?

Temple lost to Army and after losing to Memphis was trending down i imagine....and we destroyed ECU on the road who started off strong beating NC State and playing South Carolina close. We had momentum on our side and home field advantage.

...and they had a point for awhile when we were up 25-7.

I'll say it again, the only thing that really matters about this season is where the program is as a whole at the end of it. Record-wise, we've already won by winning 3 games. It's really just about "is the program getting better and going in the right direction?" Right now, that seems to be the case. We had a really good half and really bad half on Saturday and lost by 1 on the last play of the game. That REALLY stings when you're legitimately in the hunt for championships. It doesn't nearly sting as bad when you're only in the hunt to not totally suck anymore. Let's see where we are after 12 games.

I'm worried about UCONN, they are another good run defense which is the thing that seemed to stall this offense from going against Temple. It's going to put more pressure on Milton to beat them through the air and I hope the team doesn't get sloppy with turnovers.

USF's Q. Flowers threw 2 Interception last weekend against their Defense and the USF Oline is better than UCF's in pass protection. A loss there and the team slips into 3 straight losses and bowl hopes are done.

I had this UConn game as a big loss for us, but this team turned out to be better than expected. UCF is favored by 4 now. I agree that it will be nearly impossible to win 6 games without a win this weekend. This game will be a make or break game for a possible bowl. Once again, we need to get it into the hands of our playmakers. Akins, Smith and Killins.

I feel like on paper UCF has a lot of talent at WR that for the most part hasn't been used. Part of it is chemistry since we have been rotating QBs

i had us at 2-4, so I'm good.

During the preseason, I thought we would be 2-4 or maybe 3-3 if we caught a break or two...The team has improved significantly from where I thought they would be and should be 4-2 or 5-1 if we make a few more plays. With that said, I am very happy with the improvement of the team, the coaching staff, the recruiting efforts, direction of the program, etc.

We are 1-2 recruiting classes away from being a very good team and our current team will be the core of the team that will compete for multiple AAC conference titles. They will play in a NY6 access bowl against a Top 10 program during their time at UCF.

Go Knights!!

Agreed. We keep throwing to the sidelines (difficult attempts which usually net 5 yards) and deep routes (low probability connections to them). However, the quick slants (avoiding the blitz) and crossing routes (behind the LBs) are being ignored although they are usually wide open opportunities with low risk and are difficult to defend bc they usually require LBs trying to help defend our speedy WRs.
