UCF @ Kansas Tuesday at 8pm on ESPN+

It pretty much played out exactly how I predicted in this thread. The one situation/play I got frustrated with was when we were down 2 with 1:30 left, Hall tried to take KJ Adams 1 on 1 and Adams forced him to take a bad shot. Adams is ultra athletic and their best defender, why in the world are we trying Iso on him like that? I was yelling at the TV “don’t try to take Adam’s!” There had to be multiple other better plays/options than trying that. Other than that play, I loved the way our guys competed and played. Looking forward to BYU and Cinci coming to our place the next two.

All winnable games. Iowa State n Baylor are the real tough ones but the confidence we r playing with makes all winnable

In the end, they were without Harris and we were without Sellers. We probably win that game if they would have kept Adams out like they had planned to do, smart on their part to play him. Wish JJ Taylor didn’t have to miss the game, not sure what’s up with him? Could have used his athleticism and maybe a few extra points off the bench. Coleman going 1-7 from 3 hurt. Would have liked to see less of that and a few more attempts from Ivy-Curry, but Kansas defense probably had something to do with that. Super impressed by Thiam’s play! Great offensive game and held his own defensively, and didn’t get into foul trouble too bad. Sky is the freaking limit for that dude. And of course great games by Johnson and Hall, which I expected.

Agreed. Kids r playing with confidence. (I hope we can keep Thiam around he’s gonna be real good.) Need another big next year but we r a tournament caliber team this year. Played well last night Like a nice run coming up with some very winnable games in a conference that is a nightmare to navigate. Charge On !!

Man beating Houston n Kansas were right there

We play like that the rest of the season we will be in every game and have a chance to win. we are definitely a tournament caliber team.
FIrst of all, great game from our guys. But for the umpteenth time, we still need a tough presence in the middle at C to go far in the tournaments. It's painfully obvious. Johnny needs to challenge his guys and find one. Put on your helmet Jocius and whomever else Johnny can find, use your 5 fouls every game and show us you can bring some muscle. Otherwise, here's what we'll face every game... https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ba...-power-past-ucf/ar-AA1y2fr2?ocid=BingNewsSerp

What were the names of the refs, specifically the one that made the call on Thiam? I’m sure Dawkins will be sending in some clips from this game to the league office.

1:43 left in the game. They mystery call on Thiam after getting mugged. Put that in slow motion. What the heck? Like coordinated strike by the two kansas players on Thiam. Thiam gets the foul.

Watched it live and the way the referee points at Thiam while on the ground, twice, is really weird looking. I rewound the tv when I saw it and it looked like and angry dude yelling at a player on the ground. He stepped like 6 feet into the court from the sideline. (Incorrectly too because Thiam got mugged).

Then that same guy gets to review his own overly aggressive call?? Like what, you really think he's going to go against his own call? He showed you how emphatically he believed in the foul....

I think reviews like that should not include whomever made the call. You should not be allowed to review a call that you made. Most people will not be able to look inward and say, I was wrong....

Think Knight nation needs to show this ref a little love on social media. Friendly reminder of how wonderful a job he did calling this game last night. Please include video evidence too so everyone else can see his outstanding work. Hope he gets a bonus from the league cause he certainly deserves it.

Also that call at the end where they said Johnson wasn’t in the act of shooting. Dawkins lost his mind.

Wow, Greg Nixon also made the call at the end saying the foul on Johnson was on the floor. That dude should seriously be at least investigated after those two calls. He kinda even looks like he would be involved in some kind of gambling scheme. Wouldn’t shock me if something fishy was going on with that guy and the outcome of that game. If you’re involved in something at least try to make it not so obvious please.

Hope to get Sellers back soon for some instant offense off the bench. Dawkins has put together a nice squad, hope we can finish strong and being playing our best ball heading into March.
He was out a couple months the first time he hurt back. He returned before it was healed. I doubt he will be effective this year. Takes a couple weeks to get into basketball shape. He only played a few games before he hurt it again. They should be planning on him not being back.

Funny thing Tim Donaghy (NBA ref who cheated) did my summer league games with his dad (who was a big-time ref in the ACC.) The ACC teams never lost an out of conference game with his father reffing
I had a brother who played on on a top five team in the nation in the northeast who hated Donaghy dad because of his bias whenever they played an ACC team. A ref in basketball can really screw you over. Last night it took place.
