Do we actually see J Brown start against Iowa State?

Besides playing like shit, I bet KJ did something detrimental to his status on the team and Gus blew the whistle. Just conjecture, but I bet it was a bad attitude or something.

It's been said that at the end of last season the locker room was divisive with him. He progressively got worse and less in shape as years passed. The biggest red flag seems to be the fact that no one else wanted him. Malzahn is not luring elite QBs in the portal, Nix spent years with Malzahn and didn't even bother with a visit when he was leaving Auburn.

KJ is done for. He won’t play another snap.

I think he will show flashes and we’ll have a few moral victories. maybe 1 more unexpected win

everything seems too dysfunctional to surprise down the stretch and Brown didn’t get the 1 reps he should have gotten.

But I hope he stays at UCF regardless of what happens in December.

A troll who cheers for Miami told you this months earlier.
Also for you Knights fans who couldn't see it the hiring of Ted Roof at this stage of his career has the potential to be just as bad as when gol hired Chuck Bresnahan for the 2015 season.

KJ seemed pretty engaged in sideline cheering everyone on. Not sure if he did something wrong for the benching. I applaud him for that. But why did Gus start the true freshman? Wasted 2 series UF you don’t let him get nerves out by playing. When we get whooped he’ll get more PT going forward. But starting wasn’t a good idea to only play 2 series.

Because he wants an excuse to use when he loses. He mentioned “growing pains” several times in the post game press conference.

I would've been happy with starting Colson against Cinci and then going with him the rest of the season, good or bad, for the sake of actually developing a QB. I also would've been ok with starting Jacurri against Cinci and riding with him the rest of the season. But starting Colson, then bringing in Jacurri, and presumably starting Jacurri against Iowa State looks like a head coach making panic moves. Are we really going to start three different QBs this season with no injuries? And he's played four because Rizk got game snaps before Colson. If Jacurri starts against Iowa State, is Colson looking for his next school to get out of this clown car? I mean this is unbelievable.

Not sure if Colson reclassifying made a lot of sense. He could have came a year later. Spent next year redshirting, getting experience, and then ready to go the year after that. The QB room has never made sense, and everyone can blame NIL/transfer rules, however, it seems like just about every other school has a better grasp on the process.

I disagree, first series colston was great and JRich fumbled at the 20. Very next series last one play and **checks notes** JRich fumbled again.

This is a lost season so i would say give all snaps to Jacurri but give rizk and colston opportunities to shine and see if someone gets hot

"This central Dave dude is funny."

Thanks for recognizing. Dark witty sarcasm is my forte'.

I use to be really good at self deprecating humor, but now I just suck at it. I'll stick with sarcasm.

The Rizk Era Starts in Ames, Iowa this Saturday.

He was great? He completed 25% of his passes for -6 yards. Had 6 yards running. If Gus keeps giving the ball to Harvey we probably score 14 points in those series. He keeps on outsmarting himself. The freshman was too nervous but why start him in first place. Didn’t make sense.

Why do other teams seem to have no problems in bringing in the next QBs to take over for previous successful QBs but we always struggle in recruiting and promoting the right QB?

Enough to drive a long time fan crazy. This season there has to be a QB who is better than KJ on the roster.
Coulston (spelling?) looked good to me and could have a long future with the team. We shall see what the
brain trust comes up with.

Gus thought the true freshman was ready. He lasted 2 series. Watch Rizk be the best but he’s not even seeing the field. Can’t trust Gus decisions ever.

The era of any player playing 4 years at one school is OVER!! I'll give props to Gus for giving Colson some playing time at the risk of burning 1 eligible year.

2024 is done guys, it's now about 2025. Play all the underclassmen, give them the much-needed reps, and see what we have in store for next year.

Arch Manning will probably play whole career at Texas. Most of it riding bench and will still make NFL.

Manning probably already wealthy from family. So not influenced so much by dollar bills swaying in his face. Just guessing though. Texas is pretty much one of the pinnacles to become a legendary player though. I hope they win the SEC this year. I'm so bored with the jawjas and the bamers. Next please...

Just bringing up the Manning name I wanted to mention that the past two Monday Night Football games I watched it on ESPN2 where both Eli and Peyton do commentary while watching the game. They have guest visit. Kind of like watching the game with those guys sitting on the coach with you. Check it out and see if you like it next week.

you are right that privilege probably helps being patient. But even those without it sometimes the constant moving around backfires and you end up at 3 schools with nothing to show for it. kind of ruins their college experience

He’s a small kid with an average arm. Anyone who would stake the future on him doesn’t know bowl. Can he be developed? Sure, but the physical limitations are obvious.

Actually, even riding the bench, as of September 2024, Arch Manning's NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal is valued at $3.1 million. This makes him one of the most highly compensated college athletes in the country. His NIL deals have secured him the #2 spot in the college football NIL rankings and the #3 position in the overall NIL 100. Doesnt even matter about family wealth he already makes more than a ton of NFL players. Big reason why he's staying at Texas.

And Austin is an awesome place to be a college student. They are one of those Programs that should have done what Bama did w Saban. With their NIL pockets and Sark recruiting QBs they may become the next dominant program.

He’d make that no matter where he went. Double if he went to a few different schools. It’s not about money. He isn’t wondering where his next meal is coming from. But that’s not why he’s staying. His family believes in waiting your turn to be the man. Not transferring because you aren’t starting. Texas is preparing him for NFL. Learning how to compete. It’s how he was raised. Too many kids want to play right away. Whether ready or not and that ruins them. If he’s good he’ll play 10 years+ in NFL. They are playing the long game. Not secure a top pick and coast the rest of way game.

from an article:

Jacurri Brown will start at quarterback for the UCF Knights Saturday.

During a radio appearance on Orlando’s 96.9 The Game Friday morning, head coach Gus Malzahn announced his decision ahead of their showdown against Iowa State.

“JB has been getting all the (first-team) reps,” Malzahn said on Mike Bianchi’s Open Mike show. “He's done a really good job for us. I really think he's in a good spot to lead us.

EJ (Colson) is a guy that's right there, too, that's learning and growing every day and really responding well. So those are the two guys that moving forward, at this point, we're going with. But JB will be the first guy out there.”
