Egypt cracking down on lgbt

No big deal. We have a few dozen white supremacists in Gainesville today to faux rage about.

Reading is what? Fundamental!

It also mentions the Christian church is against the gays and organizing events to teach how it's bad.

i think you fail to see that killing/jailing lgbt people in muslim nations isnt extreme, but the norm. killing/jailing lgbt people in western countries is actually extremely rare.

lol Shirley you can't be serious?

It's true that many Christians still have an issue with the gays. It's also true that over 50% of Catholics now support gay marriage.

It's also true that this is a total false equivalency. Those Christians I referenced are not rounding up gay people, flogging them, throwing them in prison, or killing them. At worse, we are dealing with the HORROR of some baker refusing to do a cake for a wedding.

With Islam, we have a systematic acceptance of governance which calls for locking up or killing gay people. And this is common in most every ME country where Islam is the dominant religion.

Whenever I'm feeling down, I can always count on you to share your insights on the Middle East to give me a chuckle.

While I realize it is a slow process and absolutely should not be, more and more churches are allowing Gay/Lesbian minsters and positions of authority in their organizations. Congregations are learning and changing with time which is a good thing, even if it shouldn't have taken so long

funny the death penalty is still legal in several middle eastern countries. not to mention a bunch of others that have long prison sentences. in other places, they just throw you off a roof and then stone the body just to be sure.
