UCF MBB had the most disappointing and costly loss today against Temple. We went from Mountain Top beating Michigan to rock bottom after SMU and Temple loss.
That raises the question for me: how can we compete in the Big 12 in the nation's best Basketball conference. Big 12 ave NET is 34. And there are elite teams like Baylor and Kansas. Baylor won the national championship last year.
I was a student manager for UCF MBB team, We do not have good enough facilities. Our Strength Room is tiny and our locker room is small.
How should we support our MBB program? By attending games? Tonight's Game against Temple was just embarrassing. There are probably 2K fans there after a sell out against Michigan.
Our Donor support for MBB can not compare with Football. The recruiting budget for MBB is just not there either. To compete in Big 12, it comes down to recruiting. We need to recruit 4 star and higher rated 3 star players not just in Florida but in the nation.
Many of us want a Gus hire for our MBB program. I agree and disagree. We should give JD more chances. His recruiting has improved a lot and this year, in my opinion, is the do or die year for JD. We have the deepest team ever at UCF.
I still have faith in JD. He is a high character guy but when it comes down to Big 12, we need to do better.
How can we build a power house in MBB? That might be my pipe dream. But I honestly think we will, as I have been a UCF MBB fan for more than 15 years.
Hope you guys can share some of your opinions. Thanks
