We are seeing a near-apocalyptic situation in the Western United States right now with this year's forest fires. The scenes we've seen on TV have been horrendous. I think I heard somewhere on TV that four of the top six forest fires in American history are taking place right now.

But climate change is a "hoax"? How many more 'hoaxes' can this nation afford? How many more lives and billions of dollars of damage from floods, fires, and hurricanes is it going to take before people wake up?

Forest fires and Climate Change

Forest fires have nothing to do with climate change and everything to do with environmental management. The Native Americans knew this and we also did up until the late 1970s.

Yeah, prescribed burns are the only way to CONTROL it, but i'm sure in California the environmentalists think they're doing everyone a favor by letting all that undergrowth just sit and increase the danger of an out of control situation. All that being said there's no cure for stupid, like having fireworks, during a gender reveal party in the middle of a high fire risk area. There are always folks that are slowing down the train of humanity.

Unfortunately we can't really do anything now. The natural fires or controlled burns that would have helped maintain things have been stopped for way too long.

Now, of course, 30 years of admitted mismanagement is being blamed on Trump.

Literally every natural disaster can be blamed on climate change. Floods? Climate change. Dry seasons that lead to fires started by people? Climate change. Hurricanes? Definitely climate change. No Hurricanes? Double definitely climate change. And its all Trumps fault.

The science explains it all. With increasing global surface temperatures (which continues to be documented) comes the ever-increasing possibility of more droughts and increased intensity of storms As more water vapor is evaporated into the atmosphere it becomes fuel for more powerful storms to develop. More heat in the atmosphere and warmer ocean surface temperatures can lead to increased wind speeds in tropical storms. (All of which explains the increasing number of severe tropical storms we've been experiencing in recent years.)

So does climate change explain the dustbowl? The Galveston Hurricane?

I swear you and the gang here would have been Flat Earthers and “everything revolves around the Earth” advocates back in the day. :)

These people are beyond hope. Nothing of value can be gained from trying to talk with them. You might as well debate a toaster, at least it has a purpose in this world.

You said, "SCIENCE", you just sent the redhats running!! [roll]

Bingo. Some of the strongest hurricanes hit in 1928, 1935, and in the 1800s. But CliMaTe cHanGe!!
We are practically to the point where asteroids and volcanoes will be attributed to global warming, and people will believe it.
