Former UCF LB Chris Askew (1998-2000) is a Seminole County firefighter and currently is in the ICU battling a very serious infection that began with the flu and moved into his respiratory tract. Typically, you think of flu/RSV being extremely serious for the very young or elderly, but he's facing a serious battle. His wife is basically staying with him in the ICU 24/7.
Several years ago in 2019, Askew made national headlines with his TikTok dances for the 47 days his newborn son was in the NICU. That child is now four yo. They have four boys in total: ages 4, 5, 7 & 9.
