When Nick Patti is the focal point of your offense it is time to call it quits and retire.

It is time for George to call it quits. George O’Leary has always said he would retire when he couldn’t coach anymore or when he became an ineffective leader. He likes to stress accountability and doing the right thing; now, he can lead by example. If George is the man of character that he claims to be, he will clean out his football office and move everything into his temporary AD office. You know it is time to hang up the headset and work on your golf game when Nick Patti and the “Wild Knight” is the focal point of your offense.

Just a year ago UCF was celebrating back to back conference championships. In the 2013 season, the Knights beat Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl and finished in the top 10. Truth is, UCF fans owe a huge "thank you" to GOL. He helped build UCF into the football powerhouse it is today. In his 12 years as head coach, he has taken the team to 7 Bowl Games, won 4 division titles (05, 07, 10, 12) and 4 conference titles (07, 10, 13, 14). He oversaw the opening of UCF’s on campus stadium and has seen numerous players make their way into the NFL. He did all this while maintaining one of the highest graduation rates in the country. Last year UCF ranked 10th overall and third among public schools with a 90% graduation rate for football players.

Unfortunately the wheels have fallen off the wagon. UCF has gone from champs to chumps and may not win a game all year. The team is an embarrassment to the students, the alumni, and to the American Conference. Losing to Furman is inexcusable. When you find a team as talented as UCF losing to teams like Furman, FIU, and getting blown out by Stanford, you have to look to the coaching staff. Brent Key is a buffoon, our defensive coordinator is a USF reject, and Rob Calabrese has no business anywhere near campus. From top to bottom the coaching staff is a train wreck and it has shown on the field this year. As Head Coach, George is responsible and should shoulder most of the blame.
