our end of game offensive play calling. Our final 3 possessions of this game (excluding the Victory formation) and the final possession in Temple game, our offense looked totally out of sync. A couple of first downs, or a score puts the game away and we were clueless. Need to figure out who can and how we can run the ball with the lead and salt the game away.

I see in Frost a new breed of coach for UCF. He is a fearless, devil may care, go for broke, no guts-no glory, high risk-high reward kind of coach. He is not conventional and UCF, as well as most football fans, cannot relate to this way of thinking.

I like it. Once the guys get used to...I think we rock the G5 world.

Until you get the horses then you play smart.

Very true...and that's why any dumb decisions are magnified...as UCF just can't afford those right now and expect to win close games.

Like going for it on 4th down on your half of the field early in the game. Or like going for it on 4th and 7 at their 40. Both of those decisions lead to 10 points for UConn and O points for UCF. I appreciate his enthusiasm for the offense, but if we punt the ball especially on the latter of the two 4th downs, maybe we pin them deep in their territory and get the ball back right around the same spot.
Against Maryland calling a timeout right before half when the other team was content to let the clock run out. Instead they hit a huge pass play and kick a field goal. Without those three points we don't go to overtime and we win that game. ( I understand that with a different score there might have been different play calling in the 2nd half, especially Maryland late in the game).

Frost is not going to turn into a ball control punt from the opponents 40 type coach.

Get used to a lot of going for it on 4th downs

The answer to our late in the game, we need a first down woes is a better passing game. We just aren't at the stage yet where we can line up and run it down your throat for 10 yards when everyone knows it's coming. Teams know exactly what we are going to do in those situations, thus, we go 3 and out.

Milton is going to be a star, but he definitely needs to work on the passing game,

There is a whole bunch of Sunday morning quarterbacking going on here. Easy to call a play dumb when it does not work. The truth is that EVERY coach makes a call that does not work. What matters is the W. It does not matter how you get there.

Frost is a first year HC. He's actually growing with the program. He went from being told what to call to telling what to call. Growing pains on the field and on the sidelines, but a W is a W.

This is really simple actually. Our biggest weakness is our OL. We can agree on this. MM has to extend plays almost every play just to get anything going. We had a strong running game vs. Michigan and have hit a couple of home runs with a couple long runs but overall - OL, pass and run blocking, is our biggest weakness easy. (WIth the injuries, DL is a big concern too now....but stay with me).

When trying to kill a game, your OL becomes THE reason if you do it or not. You need to eat clock so you need to have positive running plays. Our OL simply isnt good enough to get first downs in a "you know what is coming, try and stop us" situation. You cant have MM running around making risky boom/bust plays when trying to run out the clock.

Cliffs: It's not the coaches. The OL isnt good enough to kill a game when we need to eat clock.;

From the beginning I've said it is both lines. The new 3-4 and depth at LB and DB hides some of the DL weakness, but there's zero depth on the line. As the Sentinel pointed today, we were basically missing all three starting DL guys after Conners twisted an ankle. Hill was rotating in and out but hurting badly. The past two games, our inferior lines to Temple and UConn hampered UCF greatly.
