Let's hear your thoughts. I don't know what the timeline for hiring a AD and HC are. That timeline will certainly impact recruiting. Who knows the timeline? And discuss recruiting for this year.

Best case we have an AD before Thanksgiving and a coach before Christmas...
Work backwards from NSD and insert what has to happen to get recruits and you'll have your answer.
Don't rush it and get it wrong. Recruiting will be down this year regardless. Don't hire the wrong guy and mess up recruiting for 5 years

I would have loved for the reason O'Leary pushed out this week was because we had the AD hiring announcement happening by tomorrow, or next week. Dream on. I have a bad feeling this is going to go on too long, we won't get who UCF wanted first as HC (but they won't admit that) and we'll have to give up on a good recruiting year. Probably for many, it's too late as it is. But, if we have to give up a recruiting year to get a great AD and HC, it may be worth the wait.

Recruiting this cycle will be tough even for a home run hire. It's the next recruiting year that it should be expected to pick up. They'll have to remind them of 2013-14 and pretend the 2015 season never happened

it also depends on who the hire is, if it's one of the current Bama, Georgia, and Florida assistants UCF may get a few surprises during this recruiting cycle.

We may not be going after the same guys but those assistants already have ties to plenty of High School Coaches in the State of Florida

There's usually a ton of activity before bowl season starts. We lost our DC right before the Fiesta Bowl if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, it'll happen between the end of the regular season and the start of the bowl season. That's, what, the first two weeks in December?

That'd be my guess. Ideally they'll have an AD wrapped up mid to late November. Then he'll move right into the head coach search. Those things usually progress pretty quickly.

The plan should have name mid November and while not onsite, the new AD can give feedback on HC at that time. That give 2 weeks to iron out HC. Have a new HC first week of December.

Is the Atlanta firm doing a AD search only or both? I remember when we hired O'leary, everyone thought that would take time to do a thorough search and it seemed like he was hired pretty fast.

Remember it's not just recruiting for open spots but we will suffer through a bunch of transfers too

From what's been reported it sounds like only the AD. And I think the term "search" is a funny phrase. These companies continuously update lists of guys and girls that are top AD candidates. They have files already done on hundreds of people.
