How did former (sell-outs who entered transfer portal) Knights fair yesterday?

Dillon Gabriel- 7/16 126 yards 0 TD's and 0 INT's. got knocked out early in game

Jaylon Robinson- Did not play, yet again

Cam Goode- Did not register any stats against Rutgers

T. Mokiao-Atimalala- 1 reception for 20 yards against Washington

Tatum Bethune- 6 total tackles in a loss to Wake Forest.

Kaedin Robinson- 1 rec for 26 yards in a win against the Citadel

Eriq Gilyard- 2 total tackles in a win against Iowa St.

Randy Charlton- 3 total tackles including 1 sack in a win against Texas A&M

Kinda a mix of production, with the exception of Gabriel, Charlton, and Bethune, no one really lighting the world on fire. I highly doubt Flash and Goode have improved their draft stock and collecting much NIL $$$.

Is the expectation that if a player transfered they would automatically be a team leader elsewhere?

They left because they weren't happy at UCF.

On the flip side look how many incoming transfers for UCF have been duds.

Week 5:
1) DG the Brand (Oklahoma)....looking very "game-manager-like" before getting knocked out....literally.
2) Jaylon Robinson (Ole MIss)....NIL is how you can get paid in college. In the case of Jaylon, NIL is the amount of stats he accumulated yesterday.
3) Tatum Bethune (FSU)...looking great at FSU.
4) Titus Mokiao-Atimalala (UCLA)...1 catch for 20 yds.
5) Kaedin Robinson (App State)...1 catch for 26 yds.
6) Cam Goode (Michigan)....Wasn't listed with any stats yesterday.
7) Bentavious Thompson (Oklahoma)....not really a transfer portal kid by choice but just wanted to see what was up with him because man, he was talented. No stats in 2022 but plenty of articles on how he could be an impact on the 2022 season. Maybe he is redshirting this season??? In their game yesterday like 8 different kids got carries and he wasn't one of them.

Damn, I guess I should have looked at the previous posts before looking up these players. Somebody already posted these stats. I think my assessment of Robinson is worth the post, though.

I think this is going to be the story of the transfer portal. The grass isn't always greener elsewhere, and as we are seeing even more this year, upsets abound and teams are really inconsistent, probably due to the discontinuity of having to integrate so many new players, whether they are talented or not. Few great players are ever going to easily flip from one team to another and still be successful right away with their new team.

Hot Take No. 1: Jaylon Robinson has made a larger impact at Ole Miss than Kobi Hudson has made at UCF.

Hot Take No. 2: Most every kid who transferred from UCF is playing on a ranked team or a team receiving votes in the AP poll. Four are playing on undefeated teams (Michigan, UCLA, Ole Miss, and Kansas).

Credle left because he said Heupel promised him he’d be a big part of offense. He was a Freshman. He didn’t even go to a good team. He isn’t tearing it up at Georgia S.

Hot Take 1: Impact?? what impact are talking about? Call non-existent or a push at the very least.

Hot Take 2: Yeah, they're are undefeated teams, but none are making any impact to their respective teams. Stats are what are needed to improve upon draft positions, of which none of the four you mentioned hardly show up in the weekly stat sheet.

The WRs wouldn't be showing off any more here. Look at O'Keefe's numbers, he hasn't even had a td yet. Jaylon would have more catches than at Ole Miss, but Mokiao-Atimalala and K. Robinson would have nothing. K. Robinson actually has more yards and tds than O'Keefe.

In the end all the players that transferred obviously didn't think highly enough of UCF where they would want to stay for the education/atmosphere regardless of situation on football team. Most either left to go play for former coaches, to be closer to home, or wasn't happy with training staff here (Cam Goode) and felt there was nothing that tied them to UCF.

Why waste your effort following players who didn't want to be here? This thread looks like you're checking in on your ex. Just move on and be better. Our team didn't live or die by any individual player on your list. DG was a big piece of the Offense but Keene stepped in and took care of business as a true freshmen.

So current players realize the grass isn't greener when things get tough.

Same reason we post anything…because we want to. It’s good to check in and see if outgoing/incoming transfers are actually making an impact. It’s only the whole purpose of the transfer portal.

I get tracking Gabriel because he was a starter and possibly Goode or Robinson but I honestly don't recognize the names of the other players. Were they even starters or on the depth chart?

I guess I'm just used to my coworkers from Alabama. They follow players who leave their program and get excited when they do something big elsewhere. I can't tell you how much the guy bragged about Aaron Robinson for years and now all I hear is Javon Baker is going to do big things for y'all. They are the same staff guys who put a banner in our executive's office that said, "UCF's Part Time Coaching Staff Beat Your Team!" They also sent me and a couple of other guys condolence cards when UCF hired Gus. "Sorry for your loss. Best wishes over the next 5 years!" They even got the rest of their department to sign it and most of them knew nothing about football! They signed it last and said, "Roll Tide!"

We are playing a WR at QB and our leading receiver had 6 yards last game. I wouldn’t exactly call any WR transfers out bad decisions.

J-Flash went from being our #1 to barely getting the ball. I think he has 3 catches for around 20 yard on the year. I know our air game isn't elite right not but you know we would have tried to incorporate him more into the offense than Old Miss. Bethune has been very good for FSU sucks he's not still here.
