I think it’s presumptive to give certain power conferences more autobids than others. That just screams of recency bias. Who’s to say with 100% certainty that the big 12 or acc won’t be just as strong as the sec or big 10 next year? Just seems arbitrary.

If theyre the better conferences, they shouldn't be worried about getting at-large bids. This is a control thing, they want to put themselves out of reach of everyone else. Same with why theyre pushing march madness to be larger, those extra bids are going to midpack teams in those conferences not extra cinderellas.

Well it's clear those 2 conferences have more talent than the rest but that still doesn't mean they shouldn't have to earn it. This past season shows the SEC isn't indestructable but for most seasons they just are.

I'm ok the Big12 getting 2 AQs, as long as the Big10/SEC is held to 3. 4 are too many.

I know alot of fans around the Big 12 weren't satisfied when we only got 1 team into the playoff this past season. 2 out of 14 guaranteed every season doesn't sound bad imo. We already know the SEC and Big 10 are ahead of us. As evidenced by their media rights deals.

However, UCF is in a great place. 43 year old, old head like me remembers the Independent and MAC days so you won't hear a single complaint from me. I love how our commissioner stands up though. Brett Yormark really knows how to make his mark. We're pretty much on equal footing with, or currently ahead of, FSU and Miami in the grand scheme as far as media rights. This proposal has the ACC in the same boat as us.

Hope it doesn't come to that. I'm glad to be on the inside looking out as far as the Power 4 goes though. Yes, we're lesser than 2 of the 4, but at least we're in a position of power. Youngest by far yet so rich.

which would kill the sport . even if under current rules they win the Championship 9/10 years if you have an official separation of league fans of the ‘others’ will question what is the point of watching.

CFB can not become a diet NFL with their version of the AFC-NFC, why watch that with no attachment when there is the NFL.

There would still be CCGs I’m assuming. Whatever the tie breakers are. But standings are rarely used anyway. It’s the rankings.

It’s trash. Giving the b10 and sec 4 guaranteed spots means 8 of the 14 teams will be from those two conferences. You can be assured the at latge team will be a mid 7-5 ole miss or some bs program and now 9 of 14 spots and all the extra revenue goes to these blue bloods.

At one point i thought more was better but tbh i think the 12 team format worked great this year. Asu got screwed but in reality had they won there would have been no sec schools in the final four. Prior years saw the bias and every year it was 2 sec, one big10, and then either acc/b12.

Like it or not, week in and week out, the SEC and B1G play a different brand of ball than everybody else. Any fan who believes otherwise isn't paying attention to the collection of Big Dawgs on both sides of the line. Can great teams surface each year from outside the Big 2 ? Absolutely! And they should have a shot at the title!

But a factor that doesn't apply to basketball that HAS to be considering with CFP invitees is the physical toll the conference schedules put on teams in the Big 2. Knight fans have noticed that Big XII schedules are more physically demanding than they were in the old AAC. Would you want the playoff committee to acknowledge that grind when comparing the records of, say, a Memphis or a Boise State, to what UCF goes through every week in the Big XII?

The Big Ten plays nine conference games every year while the SEC plays only eight while throwing in another 'gimmie' opponent. Any Big Ten team that goes through their conference schedule with a 7-2 record should be in playoffs.

I completely understand both sides. Which is why I'm so happy UCF is not in the same place as a Memphis or usf. Or a Washington State or Oregon State. I feel terrible for the latter 2. Those 2 were power teams basically my whole life. They got relegated just like Temple and usf and didn't get invited back up like us, Cincy, and Houston. Yes, I know we were only P5 for one season, 2013, but it counts. Just imagine what the relegated fans feel like.

For all the grousing about the SEC & B1G, those programs are making a lot more money than everybody else. When athletic departments are forced to annually pay 20+ millions of dollars a year in player compensations, reserved playoff spots will be the least of a conference's worries.

Unlike the majority of college football teams outside of the Big 2, UCF got itself into a position where it can survive and compete for championships in the Big XII. But money will be the key going forward. The program dodged a huge bullet when Malzahn resigned. If the vitriol I witnessed here is any indication, Mohajir was going to have to fire him to keep fans happy (which would have cost the university mega-dollars.) He also saved mega-dollars by hiring back Frost. If Frosty works out, Mohajir will have 'pulled a rabbit out of his hat' and positioned UCF to handle player compensations better than many of your Big XII brethern.

A few years ago in Europe they tried to form a ⚽️ Super League..the fans revolted with protests and it fell apart. letting money win there would have killed the individual nation leagues and traditions. very similar to what is happening with CFB but we are most likely to just sit back and let it be killed.

You are correct Shuck. As bad as the football team performed, we definitely pulled the rabbit out of the hat. Not sure what will happen with Dawkins. NCAA football now is a non-rule, non-regulated mess with greed leading the pack.

Bingo! Hell, the days of Spring football games are heading towards extension too. Since lawlessness is now the norm, schools are saying, Why hold a Spring Game that's open to the public -- or worse yet, televised -- and allow schools across the country to see how good our young'uns are? The result is they get poached with NIL dollars over the summer.

UCF has a tradition of finding top-notch QBs and building explosive offenses around them. Trouble now is, if Frost finds another McKenzie Milton, other schools with deep pockets who are desperate for a QB are going to steal him away. Look at what happened with Darian Mensah at Tulane.
