How many times have you heard, "It's so much better in New York?"

The best part is that almost none of them actually lived in the City. If you have to take a train to get there you don't live there. Just like Kissimmee is not Orlando (I know is not the same)

I was not even talking about the city but LI. You are right though, not one person that said how good NY is actually lived there. I've been here for a year now and it sucks.

This is a shame. Places like Woodberry, Huntington, Bellport, Oyster Bay, etc. used to be very nice. Some long time family friends finally left Huntington for Myrtle Beach ... they had enough of the taxes, crime, gangs, etc.

Damn, damn shame...

"... went back to the green but you can never go back there again"

Gang activity and Huntington is very bad from one of my co-workers and it it sad because the north shore is very nice from a scenic point of view. I heard recently that while Nassau County crime has leveled off Suffolk County crime has nearly doubled. The reporter said the police attribute it to the people from the city moving east.

Moronic bet, I lived up to the bet and I actually took a stance, you should try it something however with your character I doubt your word means much.

It's because you were the only person in America dumb enough to actually believe that Romney would win in a landslide as you so bravely predicted.

That's why Whata jumped at the chance to have you gone from the board for a year. It was literally the safest bet anyone could have made at that time.

You're pretty terrible at assessing probably outcomes, considering you're supposedly such a wealthy self-made man.

I could picture you betting it all on real estate right around 2008.

So, you grew up 1600 miles away and root for the Yankees. You sound just like the aholes that root for Real Madrid or Barcelona in soccer.
Actually, I think your type is the personification of the people this thread is about: PRicans that lived a few years in a hood in NY and think they are better than anybody else. 100% of them have the Yankees logo on their car but didn't go to any game because couldn't afford to go
So, explain to me, what in your oh so glorious opinion, exntitles somebody to be a fan of a certain team. I'm really curious to read your logic.

I'm not a New Yorker, I'm a has-been-Puerto-Rican-born-again-caucasian. Get with the program already.

Understand one thing, the way you view me is meaningless to me. Go away, I've been a paying member of this board since before it was Rivals, I think I'll stay. Maybe I'll just go to the Dungeon, see you there.
Fukc off, dude.

I don't do residential real estate so 2008 means nothing to me. My job is corporate strategies and i think I'm pretty good at it.

And yet ... American was dumb enough to think there was any difference between Romney Care and Obama Care.

Democrats = Republicans

E.g., working for Red Hat, our 2nd largest office is Westford, MA, and Democrats were kicking and screaming about Romney Care's "penalties" (from Democrats making 3x average salary -- 6 figures!) before Obama Care every came about. But Lo'n Behold, once Obama Care is passed, they are praising the "penalties" on "The Rich."

Sometimes blind political alignment is just insulting to my IQ.

I just underestimated the stupidity of Generation Y.

No, it's real simple. I figured it out years ago after reading some statistics in the '90s.

Towers of Babel Democrats: Average 3.4 kids/family
Bible Thumping Republicans: Average 3.1 kids/family
Self-Sufficient Libertarians: Average 1.1 kids/family

Gen-Y has "bred out" the independent thinking, civics-minded libertarism in this country. The result is blind alignment, with the "Towers into Tyranny" left agenda along with the "catering too much to breeding and Bible first" right sending most of the previous, thoughtful Republicans into a blind column.

We deserve the leadership we get, because we've bred a new generation arguing about BS on both sides that really have nothing to do with what we actually need.

After the 2012 election I realized that demographics were not going to be in favor of a republican/ conservative on a national level again. That is until a democrat/liberal pushes to far, I don't know if Obama has done that but it means little to me. I fell sorry for those that are 10 years behind me because I don't think. It simply much more difficult to move across socioeconomic lines today. I was going to retire at 47, I will not now as everything I earn from this point forward will go to my children now.

You don't think what?

I don't think there will be as many people ten years behind me that will find the paths to move up economically as I have.

LOL

Another reference to your immense "wealth"? No way! We're all very sad that you can't "retire at 47" any longer. Society surely is crumbling when a person can't have a 43 foot boat and retire at the ripe age of 47. It must be all of those pesky Gen Y kids who are just f*cking everything up for you.

Maybe you should also funnel some of your mega holdings to the scores of minorities you purportedly having working on your estate. Or in the park. Or whatever.

You should write a Tell-All book on the pain experienced with retiring at 55 instead of 47.

What an enlightening position! I think the next generation that doesn't talk about younger ones with despair will be the first.

I've always found it fascinating that Americans think cities that exist based on 18th century transportation models are somehow "the greatest city on Earth." Chicago is a frozen livestock pen that wouldn't exist without access to the Great Lakes. There is no reason for that town to exist after the invention of the airplane and interstate highway system. NYC has more merit as a city, because 200 years as a port city with river access inland has accumulated business wealth. But in terms of architecture, culture, educational opportunities, public space, public art, etc. both are dumps when you look around globally. It says a lot that this discussion on whether NYC is a great place focuses on what you can buy there, or the infrastructure to buy things, etc. Very little about the filth of the town, the ignorance of the average person, and cost of living versus quality of life. If you think it is better in NYC, its because you are comparing to Bithlo or whatever rock you crawled out from under or you have some type of emotional investment in the town because of family ties. Any objective person with any sense of western culture who has travelled outside the USA to more than 10 major cities wouldn't rank in the Top 10. Facts.

You're not very smart at all are you. Hey Fuk stick, I could retire today if I wanted. I was saying I will continue to work to set up my kids because this country no longer views hard work as a way to achieve and the fact that a self promoted socialist most likely will be the democratic nominee for president.

So you're now working entirely to "set up your kids" because young people don't want to work hard in this county anymore? And you're calling me the Fuk stick?

Holy shit, irony overload. [roll]

Either I'm on everyone's ignore ...
Or no one else is reading this thread but us 3. ;)

I think you're the reason my Likes are now "95" instead of "45." The few ... the proud ... the Knights who haven't just put UCFBS on "ignore." ;)

Don't feel special. Jets is a good guy and likes everyone. If you don't get along with Jets, you're probably an a-hole.

So now the burning question is ...
- Did you take me off ignore to respond?
- Or did you not have me on ignore? ;)

Is it me ... or did they finally stop bickering across many threads? Or ...

... maybe they both really did run off an get married ... making their arguments officially sanctioned by at least one county clerk? ;)

I'll never put anybody on ignore. Like fab said, I like everyone and if you don't like me, you're a dick but I'll never ignore anybody. Makes the threads kinda like an Eminem album without the parental advisory: too many gaps in context.

I don't put anyone on ignore. I think I put KL on ignore once for about a week but that's only because I got really tired of him and needed a break.
