I would be shocked if it was Pence. He already stands to benefit from impeachment. When this source comes out, and you know it will, Trump will fire that person in about 2 minutes.
I know that everything seems crazy and chaotic from the view outside of the WH but I promise you that everything is going great, smooth and normal, inside WH. You should be able to see that.

What in God’s name does this have to do with the NYT broadcasting that some egomaniac in the WH is trying to subvert the power of the President and lead a soft coup?
If this is real, I really don't understand it. It's counter intuitive to me. I feel like this op-ed is like shooting the "resistance's" efforts in the foot. It will make the POTUS scrutinize every recommendation, response, discussion and decision that his staff makes and make him dig in harder.
What's more important, the power of the country or the power of this president?
They are all getting fired. He's been wanting to do this for a while. This will create more distrust within the staff.

The only dilemma is that we have unelected WH officials apparently trying to subvert the authority of an elected President with the help of the media, which really amounts to a soft coup and treason.
Most of what is claimed there reads like common filtering and packaging of information that has happened with every President that is spun to look nefarious. And also common delegation of tasking and empowerment to make decisions.
2 year old threads mostly. They aren't gotcha moments they are your opinions back when the establishment was telling you to dislike Trump. Now that the establishment tells you to like Trump I understand your opinions have changed.
But it's ok to pull up pictures from over two years ago (i.e., Kaepernick's socks)? In spite of the fact that I don't agree with his logic, Kaepernick did explain why he wore those particular socks.
My posts were opinions contained to the 10 or so people that read this board. Kaep was broadcasting to most of the country that he viewed cops as pigs.

For your point to be relevant, he would have had to disavowed his past message which to my knowledge he never has. I’m sure he considers cops to be pigs just as much today.

FTR, here was Kaepernick's statement from 9/1/2016:
"I wore these socks, in the past, because the rogue cops that are allowed to hold positions in police departments, not only put the community in danger, but also put the cops that have the right intentions in danger by creating an environment of tension and mistrust. I have two uncles and friends who are police officers and work to protect and serve ALL people. So before these socks, which were worn before I took my public stance, are used to distract from the real issues, I wanted to address this immediately."
It's only a matter of time before we find out who wrote this. Everyone is submitting denials. Either the person who wrote this doesn't submit a denial or submits a denial and gets ousted by the NYT.
Guess no one else could have come up with that just to place the speculation. Damn Liberals are either desperate or dumb. Probably both.

You have to admit that the journalism profession has lost a great deal of credibility in the last 5 years. Mostly of their own doing.
Honest question - do you think a reputable and credible newspaper should be running totally anonymous Op Eds from "internal officials" who by their words are creating damn near a Constitutional crisis? Does that seem like the workings of "responsible journalism"? Does it bother you that the NYT reporters are in revolt over this Op Ed since it puts them in the horrible position of now having to dig into their own Op Ed section and force them to reveal sources?
Honest question - do you think you've ever been "wrong" on this board? That maybe someone else's opinions might have merit and you're not an expert at everything? Asking for a friend.

Plot twist: Trump had someone write this to "prove" the deep state exists. It doesn't really exist.
It's anonymous to us - not to them. It's not some 3rd hand story they bought off someone. If sources weren't kept anonymous - do you think the news would have sources anymore? Do you not understand how investigative journalism works?
I do think that some outlets have gotten a bit lazy with their source checking. This is not one of those cases.
Do you think it's responsible that our president is trying to make an ENEMY - a legitimate enemy - out of the press? Trump lovers sit there and whine about the unfair press and FAKE NEWS and then take random Facebook pages as the bible. Please.

Uh- this isn't investigative journalism. This is the NYT receiving an incendiary letter from someone and running it as an Op Ed. What is journalistic about that? This isn't news, this is the NYT aiding someone in the WH who apparently wants to destroy Trump from the inside and the NYT is assisting in that. That's ok with you?
The press runs garbage like this and you wonder why Trump despises them? Really?
