I love Florida!

You focus on that number way too much instead of giving him and the companies credit for doing the near impossible of even starting the process in 2021. Vaccines take 5-7 years typically especially going into all the layers of testing. We are to the point it is just getting to how fast they can create the vaccines with now 3 companies in the mix.
Exactly. The clear takeaway here is what happens when Government incentivizes industry and gets out of it's own way. This isn't normal government where the government is project manager and creates a huge bureaucracy with way too much friction and horrible project management skills. This is letting the best knowledge engine in the world do it's freaking thing. This is how Government should work.

The Pfizer vaccine (you know, Numero Uno) was developed in a German lab without any US government incentives.

But "Yay, Trump!" anyway, right guys? :)

Trump told Angela to develop that shit or he was going to go “full Nazi” on her like he did with everything else for four years.

That's not true. Pfizer participated in OWS from the beginning, benefitted from the relaxed US trial protocols, and from the US commitment to purchase the doses whether they panned out or not.

Seriously, can you ever get anything right?

Says our resident spin doctor. sk8 would have us believe that -- drumroll -- Pfizer was an active participant in OWS.

Now what would you imagine being a participant in Operation Warp Speed to mean?

In Pfizer's case, it simply meant the company agreed to sell the US 300 million doses of the vaccine once it was approved by the FDA. The company funded its own research and development.

And was provided immunity against lawsuits in the scenario that their vaccine had negative side effects. Its fine to say that Pfizer didn't get any money directly from the USG, but you can't deny that we removed some roadblocks for them to invest in the r&d.

And it’s much easier to ok the development funding when there’s a guaranteed profit at the end. Not to mention that Pfizer was an original signatory to OWS and didn’t decide to virtue signal like they weren’t part of it until after the election.

It has everything to do with distribution. Based on production, the Trump Administration proclaimed that they'd have 20 million people vaccinated by the end of the year. Sixteen days into the new year, they had a vaccinated 13.5 million.

The beauty of the Trump approach was when things went well it was all about him and when things went bad, it was the states' fault.
Trump just like Biden sent it out to the states, which distribute it and get it into arms. Some states like Florida, were very quick getting it out. Here in Fl counties had sites, and Walgreens and CVS were going into elderly neighborhoods, and Nursing homes and getting it out. The fact that 13.5 mil were actually done had everything to do with states, not feds. Same is true today, The states have gotten things ramped up and more are being done. All the feds did then and now is make sure the available shots get to states and the states get it to the providers in those states.

I know it kills you, But Orange man did a great job in clearing the path for a vaccine and jump starting production of it. Dementia man has done a great job in getting out and encouraging the ramp up in production since he got in office. The fact that 13 mos after the virus officially hit our shores 30% of the population and 70% of the most vulnerable have been partially or fully inoculated is nothing short of a miracle.
