my mom turns 90 in 3 weeks. I need a restaurant that can accommodate 20+ in a private room. Chicken must be on the menu. Suggestions?

If you want to do something "nice"...I've had good experiences at both Seasons' 52 (altamonte) and Capital Grille (i drive) for large parties.

Santiago's Bodega (altamonte or orlando) is also a great option because it is tapas so you can avoid the menu hassle and get a good casual dinner with wide variety of dishes for all to share.

Ruth's Chris (winter park or lake Mary). I've been there several times and their private rooms are great. And the chicken dish they offer is awesome.

La Coca Vin on South Orange....very unique, one of the few Orlando traditional landmark restaurants left...and oh yeah, that got some good chicken dishes too.

My sis and I held our Parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary Party there and they have a back room that can handle a group your size. (I think we had 25 or so).

Le Coq Au Vin* (French, not Spani-fren-glish) And I do agree with KL's recommend - good food and nice, homey atmosphere.

Would second the Seasons 52 recommend as well. If you're indifferent between the two locations, the one on Sand Lake has the better private room with a view of the lake. Altamonte is easier to get into.

Ruth's Chris is going to be a pretty penny, but if you're looking at that pricing tier, I would go to the Palm in the Hard Rock hotel over Ruth's for sure (they do have private rooms). Ocean Prime on Sand Lake also has a good and spacious group party room as well.

More on the reasonable end - I went to a group dinner at Brio in Winter Park Village, held in a private party room, and had a great time.

I also really like the food and atmosphere at Cafe Trastevere on Magnolia (Italian, family owned). I know they have a group party room upstairs, but I've never seen it.

Antonio's (upstairs) in Maitland has private dining rooms - Italian, a little higher on the price scale than Trastevere. Every experience I've ever had there has been fantastic.

Good luck Hoops!

Eating there is like feeding your dog purina dog chow
My cat would probably enjoy Purina since he gets Member's Mark.

Capital grill up here you can get a $50/head mediocre lunch. Fill you up on bread, and then give you a cheap 80% lean beef, non-organic burger.

Yeah, I can only speak of the Capital Grill on I-Drive. That is the only one I've ever been to. We had a private room, service was great, and the steak was excellent.

I have no doubt there are some bad apples in the bunch.
