this morning on AM....maybe 1080 or something.

I caught the middle of the conversation. I thought they were talking about UCF and they were talking about Charlie Strong at UT.

UT was already blown out in 2 games this year.

Thoughts? Comparisons? Comments?

Can you provide more details about such conversation? Hard to have an opinion on something I didn't hear.

Texas is one of those schools that get to hand pick their players. Thus, Coaching is more than likely the culprit over there.

it's his 2nd season

GOL has had a decade to mold HIS program and any dips or down years are not supposed to be this bad with the resources and conference UCF is in. 7-8 wins? ok. 0-3 wins? unacceptable

Since the wife is a Texas Ex I follow and attend Texas games from time to time. With regard to this thread, Texas lost 2 of its' games in the last moments due to breakdowns in the kicking game -- point after a touchdown and a muffed snap on a punt. Both games should have been wins. The major losses have been to Notre Dame and TCU -- huge embarrassments ! CS this year is playing with his first recruiting class -- the big cigars/hats at Texas continue to support CS. Long term I believe CS will do quite well but the two "thug" universities, TCU and Baylor will remain big competition like never before to UT football. Many of the thugs who play for TCU and Baylor are simply not acceptable at UT -- UT is one of a handful of elite flagship universities where the football program must minimize off the field arrests etc. Yea, I know they smoke a little weed !

and, Go Cats !! and, Hook 'em for the wife !

The Texas situation is very close to the UF situation. Flagship school that can write whatever check is necessary and has every recruiting advantage that you might want. Texas football seems to be all about Texas football, from pop warner up to the pros. To succeed at Texas football it seems like you have to have real connections in Texas. I am not sure how successful CS has been in that regard. The smaller Texas schools seem have better success recruiting out of state
