If you could face a Coolagan in a controlled Amateur Fight Night under Florida's Prize fighting MMA or Boxing regulations (I prefer boxing, frankly. MMA is a not true "martial art")...

Who, or whom, would it be?

We should have one every year. Would be interesting to see who gets KO'd.

Pretty much this, but I'm certain, even with no fighting experience, I could beat up anyone in here.

I wouldn't do MMA real wrestling way too homoerotic

Lol bitchboy bob, put the gloves & headgear on my biggest problem would be deciding whether to let it go the distance or knock your ass out

All of you would be fvcked. I'm like a starfish on a clam and it may take a while but you would succumb.

That would be a true cat fight, they would both puff up and hiss, then one would finally swat the other and the other would run away, and both are happy the other one ran.

Of course that would be a good headliner. I'd attend...

I'm guessing most of this board isn't in shape enough to even go one round in a boxing match.

I can change that. I'd love to see these throw downs and can add it to any amatuer card in town. We do amatuer cards at my gym but the owner charges people way too much to watch. If you live by UCF, John Scully (the real expert as he has trained world champions and was an amatuer standout and a solid pro) and I train boxing at the MMA gym off of Red Bug by Tuskawilla. Or I live in Apopka if that's a closer part of town, I have converted 2/3 of my garage (the wife gets to park her car in the other part...compromise) into a home gym that I'm working to finish up with a ring soon. Everything else is there including sparring.

That goes without saying.

When I was playing, the trainer had us cross train one day with a boxing coach. Holy crap....hardest workout of my life. 3 minutes on the heavy bag and I thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest. Keep in mind, I was skating and/or playing hockey 4-5 hours a day and about passed out after the first 3 minutes.

I give crazy respect to boxers for their physical conditioning.

You've piqued my interest...on the boxing. Such a gentleman's sport. Just curious, what are your training costs?

Mine are nothing, it's a labor of love; I have a full-time nerdy job as I didn't put enough time into boxing to make a serious living. The gym membership is $120 month unlimited visits. Classes are ass-crack of dawn early 5:30am or at night around 8p depending if John has a professional in camp or if he is out of town doing a broadcast. Otherwise you can come or go as you please to work on your own. They spar twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday. I drag my circle of friends through sparring every other weekend unless I'm out of town for a fight.

No one will take you up on this. Ive tried to get people to come out and train bjj with me before.

I recently challenged my buddy, who is out of shape, to spar with a punching bag for just 1 minute straight while moving around to simulate dodging punches. He nearly passed out and had to stop just short of puking. It's an incredibly demanding cardio and strength sport.

You live in Casselberry for a while? If so, did you ever train at Kopakelli's (sp?) gym there? I know it was Muay Thai but it was fun and it reminded me what getting kicked by a mule felt like. Plus the strippers from Cabaret or Diamond something, whatever the strip club was, would venture out into the sunlight and provide us with a living PSA about drug use.

No, I used to train at Alliance BJJ just south of down town, and then recently in a small crossfit gym in Oviedo, I think it was called tough as nails. No Striking for me, Id rather not get punched in the face if I have too. Id rather drag the person to the ground and choke them out or break something.

I would likely have to fight Joe. Problem is I would die of lead poisoning, after being stabbed with a pencil for a spelling or a grammar error.

That's more my style hence my starfish on a clam analogy. I do fine as long as I'm in constant contact...assuming I'm in fighting shape which I'm definitely not.

I actually trained in conventional boxing back in the mid-90s in high-school, but stopped after hearing that the constant jarring compression on the wrists would affect my ability to be a musician, so I stopped. Thinking about getting back into it now and I'm 36...

Addendum:

Ok, I found who I would take on in a controlled bout. UCFversusBCS. After I KO him, I'll cover him with an American Flag. He blatantly called me a Neo-nazi in another thread. So, name the date UCFversusBCS. Put your money where your mouth is.

Based on the other threads, seems like Da Coola went for an all out rioting brawl....I guess that chocolate pudding wrestling match with the three ladies will have to wait.
