Not likely. The most probable situation is that he legally used tax laws to defer tax payments by using write-offs and depreciation. He's much more likely to have committed bank fraud

If you can't get basic security clearance with a fraction of the debt Trump has (according to Ninja), wouldn't it be important to at least know who Trump is in debt to? It does seem relevant to me and I would want anyone in power disclosing that. Where am I off here?
Doesn't that fact lend itself to the theory that he probably doesn't owe money to foreign adversaries? With all of the leaks we have had over the last 3 years I would imagine someone would have leaked that if it were true.

That was the narrative though, that Trump owes money to Russia and that makes him vulnerable to their influence.
It was widely reported back in the early 00s that Trump had worn out his welcome at all the big American banks so there was wide-spread speculation -- long before Trump ran for President -- that he was being financed by foreign banks. Some have even speculated that he was being financed by Russian oligarchs (which, given Trump's behavior as President, makes sense.)
This kind of crap is why there needs to be a law that all candidates running for President provide tax returns as a matter of national security.
True, but when it becomes known that a candidate is up to his neck in debt, it begs the question from the voting public: Who do you owe money to?
In this international world we live in, that's a legitimate national security issue.
I've completed those clearance tests when I worked for United Technologies.....you wouldn't have a chance of getting hired for an upper level position with debt like the Orange Idiot has.

I had to laugh at people freaking out about the loan he has thats an interest only payment in particular. That isnt exactly out of the ordinary for people that develop real estate. I dont think I've had a single year in the last 20 that I didn't have an interest only loan and I'm small potatoes compared to what Trump does.

Fast forward four years and we now know why we all "should care" about seeing a candidate's tax returns before voting for President.
The craziest thing about Trump's taxes is that he pays more in taxes to foreign countries than he does here at home in the U.S.
