I saw an interesting post on twitter and wanted everyone’s thoughts?

Because we can’t afford the $12 million buyout to fire Gus, how about pressuring the admin to fire our AD? It will cost very little in comparison and the new AD will actually enforce accountability/expectations to WIN.

It’s obvious across the board we have incompetent coaches who can’t win and are collecting paychecks with ZERO accountability. We need a CLEANING HOUSE PARTY across all athletics, starting with the AD.

Why does everybody say we can't afford a $12 million buyout? Utter non-sense. Certainly not optimal but that's the stakes at the highest levels.

https://www.blackandgoldbanneret.co...was agreed upon that, new TV contract kicks in.

"It was agreed upon that UCF, Cincinnati, BYU, and Houston are to receive a fixed lower share of approximately $18 million in 2023-2024 and $19 million in 2024-2025 from the media deal, and then get a full share starting in 2025-2026, after the Big 12’s new TV contract kicks in. The payouts for these four schools are to come from the payouts the remaining eight were receiving from ESPN and Fox. To make up for it, the eight would then recoup those funds from the exit fees of Texas and Oklahoma, per CBS’ Dennis Dodd."

Once we get to the 2025-26 season, UCF — and the other 15 schools — get full drops. The final annual revenue total under the new media deal with ESPN and Fox would push into the range of $50 million per school. The new deal will run from 2025-31 and include a Grant of Rights provision."

It's possible, but perhaps that money is already earmarked. Another possibility to break up the payments but again, I just don't see them doing anything until after 2025 season.

Before we joined the Big12, I had hoped UCF wouldn't start throwing around buyout money. I don't think Gus is right for us, but $12 million bucks! sheesh

What's the buyout after next season?
Serious question…why do you care? It’s not your money.

Don't take this as gospel but I thought I read something here where it is like $8-9 million, so we're just going to let $3-4 million run our program (understand it is more than this because of other coaches and staff as well but I have no idea what that amounts to)? I hope not. If it's time to move on you should forge ahead. If he stays we really don't have anything to get excited about, other than seeing Rizk progress (assuming he stays). It will be more of the same.

Everybody doesn't say it.

One thing to remember is expenses are going to go up 20+ mil per year with the house settlement, and players getting paid.
That eats up most of the new money before we ever see it.

I will be shocked if he is fired this year. I was hoping for 7 to 8 wins this year, and am disappointed, I would be good with a change, but just don't see it.
