Yeah there are a lack of TV games for now and yes, Furman is on our schedule, but upon checking out our SOS, this year's schedule really seems like it could be quite challenging, with UCF playing at least 3 possible Top 25 teams.
Stanford - most of the major early unofficial polls (SI, ESPN, Athlon, Fox Sports) have Sanford in their Top 20. After their first game vs. Northwestern, we'll certainly be facing a Top 20 team.
South Carolina - while they won't likely be ranked in the preseason Top 25 at the beginning of the season, they face three very beatable teams in UNC, Kentucky and Georgia. Win those and we've got our second Top 25 match up.
AAC - East Carolina, Houston & Cincy - whether it be in the AAC or CUSA, every year it seems we face a conference foe near/in the Top 25. UH's first 6 games are all winnable with their second game vs. Louisville being their biggest test. Could we face a 6 - 0 Houston team? ECU faces UF, VA Tech and BYU in their first 10 games before they meet us. If they pull off an upset, I could see an 8 - 2 ECU team in the rankings when they face us. Finally a 7 - 0 Cincy is also quite possible, hosting Miami and at BYU.
Well Im bored, rambling and want to talk some football but I think, contrary to most, this schedule is exciting and could stand to boost our SOS and get us into a big bowl if we ran the table. IF. Or at least came away with one loss.
