Can’t we get someone a little younger in there?

Let's see what Ol Handsy Joe does now. Will he try to appease the lefties extremists who have consumed a lot of his party, or try to run as a centrist and let the other nutbags on the stage with him try to one-up eachother on who is most Woke?

He does seem to be the only person running on that side who might have the balls to call out Sanders' bullshit socialism for what it is and take up even the slightest cause for capitalism. Maybe. Unless he caves to the base

I think that Mexico and some Central American countries should except our 20 year-old and younger females as immigrants if they wish to seek political asylum from touchy-feely Joe. National Emergency?

Looks like the Mayor Petey fanboys on here better get out and scream at everyone about how awesome he is before it's too late.

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s announcement of a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination earned him an 11-point polling bounce, leaving him head and shoulders above the rest of the Democratic candidates.

A new CNN poll conducted by SSRS after Biden’s announcement on Thursday shows 39% of voters who are Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents saying he is their top choice for the nomination, up from 28% who said the same in March.

That puts Biden more than 20 points ahead of his nearest competitor, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont — who holds 15% support in the poll — and roughly 30 points ahead of the next strongest candidate, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (8%).

maybe biden could massage their butthurt?

It will be Biden vs Trump. Warren has no shot. Buttigieg probably has the best shot at a spoiler but he is an unknown still. Bernie even by the left is viewed as a hypocrite.

Yeah, it’s still early but I don’t see Warren, Beto, Booker, etc. making a move. Being generous, Harris may have a shot so the legit pool takes the number down from 20+ to four: Joe, Bernie, Pete, and Kamila. I like Joe and believe he would beat Trump but Joe has a history of unforced errors so I’m not convinced this thing is over before it starts.

On the record, been off the Trump train for a while, ready to #SecureTheBag w Comrade Yang's $1000/month freedom dividend (finally a candidate I feel couldn't instantly out calculus in about 5 minutes). Tho if when the Dems nominee is Pocohantas or Buttplug 99.9% will vote for big bad nazi evil racist sexist homophobe DrUMpF, hopefully after some very entertaining general debates again.

A state owned Ukrainian energy company paid Biden's son, while Biden was VP, $600,000 a year to sit on their board despite not knowing a single thing about Ukraine. And it just so happens that at the same time, the guy in Ukraine charged with investigating this company was let go and the investigation was stopped cold in its' tracks. Hmm.

It was a foreign policy role Joseph R. Biden Jr. enthusiastically embraced during his vice presidency: browbeating Ukraine’s notoriously corrupt government to clean up its act. And one of his most memorable performances came on a trip to Kiev in March 2016, when he threatened to withhold $1 billion in United States loan guarantees if Ukraine’s leaders did not dismiss the country’s top prosecutor, who had been accused of turning a blind eye to corruption in his own office and among the political elite.

The pressure campaign worked. The prosecutor general, long a target of criticism from other Western nations and international lenders, was soon voted out by the Ukrainian Parliament.

Among those who had a stake in the outcome was Hunter Biden, Mr. Biden’s younger son, who at the time was on the board of an energy company owned by a Ukrainian oligarch who had been in the sights of the fired prosecutor general.

Hunter Biden was a Yale-educated lawyer who had served on the boards of Amtrak and a number of nonprofit organizations and think tanks, but lacked any experience in Ukraine and just months earlier had been discharged from the Navy Reserve after testing positive for cocaine. He would be paid about $50,000 per month for his work for the company, Burisma Holdings

yeah.....and frump never was a sexual predator...LOL
Never heard of anyone named frump

Maybe in 3rd grade, but it’s been too long ago.

Did they use that word in your class last year?

So.., what’s your source of this frump guy being a sexual predator?

The capitulation to the extremists on the left in his party has begun. After an entire career of correctly supporting a ban on Federal dollars for slaughter of the unborn, he's now fully caving and saying he was wrong to support the Hyde Amendment and is going all-in on taxpayer dollars for killing off unborn children.

Just like clockwork.

I don't get it. At first I thought they were running the moderates out of the party, but now it seems like either these people were only moderate for political purposes or they really have been radicalized. It just seems to me that it should be more likely to start out radical and then moderate your positions as time goes by. Maybe thats just an effect of living in an echo chamber where people of differing opinions are silenced.

What's funny is that apparently the Obama Admin and Obama Era were far too mainstream for these people now, too. No one seemed to have any issue with Biden's stance for 8 years when he was the frigging VP on this matter, yet now it's suddenly potentially disqualifying unless he does a 180 and reverses 30-40 years of his position on this matter.

Like I said, he'll have to move really far left to win the nomination but it'll doom him in the general.

I still have to think back on the republican field of candidates in 2016 and see how diverse they really were, which showed how complex the party really is. Trump was FAR from being the most conservative candidate and yet he ran away with it. You can take literally any issue and find someone in that field who was on the opposite end of the spectrum from someone else. I really don't see that with the dems this cycle and the debates are going to be super boring. Its basically going to come down to identity politics: do they want the black lady, the gay war veteran, the long time politician, the rich dude, etc, who all hold the same positions on pretty much everything. You could just plug in any one of them and it would be the same candidate. When its all said and done, they will probably end up with Harris because she checks all of the important boxes but is going to lose the entire midwest, south, and rust belt along with New Hampshire and Maine. Virginia and Colorado will be the only real swing states but it wont matter.

Does this surprise you? Given the way Democrats vote in Congress? Or the way they lined up en masse behind Obama’s Presidency and Hillary’s run?

Obama I could understand. For good or bad, he did represent change from the status quo when people had a lot of anxiety about the future. Hillary then became the new face of the status quo which was why Trump won. What the left is underestimating right now is that the status quo has actually become a good thing and its why trump is going to win, barring a catastrophe. Outside of the sycophants on the left, people are pretty happy right now. The only issues that the left has to run on that the average person may be upset with is Trumps crass behavior, but it really doesnt affect anyone's lives unless they have TDS. They can't run on an economic platform because the economy is doing well. They cant run on a foreign policy platform because we aren't at war. They can't run on healthcare because it really isnt any different than it was 4 years ago. Immigration? Nope. Global warming? Not a chance. Civil liberties? We aren't exactly being rounded up and put in concentration camps. It may not be perfect, but peoples lives are better than they were 4 years ago and that's the only thing that matters.

To his personality point, they’re bringing back that Yale psychology professor and inserting her “diagnosis” of Trump’s mental health back into the public discussion.

Uh oh. A 2006 video that's been out there is getting more attention now, purely because Joe Biden was caught speaking like a human being with a shred of compassion for the unborn who recognized how ugly the business of slaughtering them really is.

This was before the far left was demanding he flip every past position of course.

“It’s going to be very difficult,” Biden said. “I do not view abortion as a choice and a right. I think it’s always a tragedy, and I think that it should be rare and safe, and I think we should be focusing on how to limit the number of abortions. There ought to be able to have a common ground and consensus as to do that.”

Flip flopping is one thing; taking a stance just 13 years ago that would be considered hearsay to the left in 2019 is another. Showing any regard for an unborn child is simply not acceptable in 2019 left wing America and certainly not a "tragedy" - it's to be celebrated!
