Gus has everything under control. He is an offensive genius and will sort it all out.

First order of business is hiring a defensive coordinator. Gary Patterson is alone at the top of the list. No one else is even close.

The only 'N'-word I'm concerned about is notoriety. Patterson has it. He was 181–79 overall and 11-6 in bowl games at TCU.

FSU's Adam Fuller should get call #2 for obvious reasons: https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/c...g-the-top-25-dcs-in-college-football-in-2024/

With the DC out of the way, Gus can address major issues with the current coaching staff. He can start by axing a few coaches, namely Darwin Hinshaw. Send his azz back to the Galapagos! Quarterbacks are supposed to evolve, but all I'm seeing is 'survival of the sh*ttiest.' Darwin destroyed the career of the greatest QB in Arkansas football history. Now, I see why Gus demoted him last year! Darwin now will be demoted to the unemployment line in 2025. Peter Weller is out of sequels.

If Gus can lure QB Coach/Offensive Coordinator Brennan Marion away from UNLV, top QB transfer Matthew Sluka might just follow.

Next on the agenda is Herb Hand. I love the guy. I think he is a great fit culturally for UCF, and the running game production over the last four years speaks for itself. Gus, however, must address the elephant in the room: offensive line recruiting. Gus needs to snag Alex Adkins, formerly of Florida State, for the same role as Hand. Adkins, a Mike Norvell disciple, is from Gus's coaching tree. Adkins is phenomenal recruiter and one of the top 10 offensive line coaches in the country. It is noteworthy that Adkins did get slapped with a two-year slow clause due to NIL violations.

Gus, Marion, and Alex are among the top play callers in college football:

Should Neal Brown part ways with West Virginia, he will be another guy to watch.
