Killins leans at the goal line like it was a 100 meter race

We used to have a track team, as did most every university (as well as gymnastics). Title IX ended that. Too many athletes on a track team, so you have to offer as many spots on women's teams. That's why we do have a women's track team: to balance off our large men's football squad. The result is that every student pays $1700 dollars over 4 years in athletic fees to subsidize teams often composed of foreign men and women and generate no revenue. Even historically black colleges life Bethune-Cookman U. have all-white tennis and baseball teams, mostly foreign athletes. It makes no sense. Guess who the only beneficiaries are? Coaches of minor sports, who can all have careers rather than working for a living. Switch them all to club sports, and amend Title IX to not apply to college sports which it never was intended to do.

I mean I understand Title IX, but if there is a program we need to work on acquiring, its men's track, especially if we want to improve this "UCFast" spread offense.

His speed must not have been scouted well by Michigan. Dymonte Thomas (the Michigan safety) took an angle that would have worked against mere mortals. Killins left him in the dust.

He was probably the fastest guy on the field. Florida high school back to back state champ in the 100 & 200. If he were at Florida on the track team, he would have a shot at Tokyo 2020. Another guy we need to get is Chauncy Smart. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/208703/chauncy-smart

Guys like Killins will be the reason that we go bowling. He, Snelson, Hamilton, and Bargnare are going to make teams look silly.

Don't know enough about the players individually and don't know about bowling, but I agree that speed is essential for a misdirection offense. Without speed, the misdirection does not influence enough to leave the backside open. The threat to the misdirection side has to be real.

One more thing that Patti did that I was impressed about (although I can't say I liked it against Michigan) was his use of wide receivers clearing out when Michigan was in a man defense and, therefore, not looking into the backfield. On one of his scrambles (or designed run, could not tell), he let the wide receiver to the field side run off the defensive back, leaving all sorts of room for Patti to run. Of course, Michigan did not defend the play well but the key is taking what a defense is giving you.

Have to admit I was dumbstruck watching the afterburners on this guy and when he hit the endzone I saw that lean...I wasn't sure what to think of that. Also thought it was clever that sideline pass that Frost designed for him. We put our fastest guys on him otherwise it woulda been another 7. You guys got some horses.

Yes I think this player completely caught us off guard. I think he's on the radar of everyone you're gonna be playing now!

Yes, O'Leary never would have offered Killins or Hamilton scholarships because he favored bigger power backs. Dontravius Wilson, our senior holdover from the O'Leary crop, had more rushing yards in the game than your top two combined. Although he slimmed down by 10 pounds to adapt to this offense, he's still 20 and 40 pounds heavier than Hamilton and Killins. Oh, and Killings is now averaging 19 yds on his 5 carries.

I couldn't see that pass from where I was seated. What happened?

He may not be stoppable once we get rolling even on the radar for a lot of teams.

We still have Wilson as a short yardage option which is good. He's much faster this year.

However, was I watching the wrong player or did Hamilton move the pile at times as a 190 lb true freshman.

Both did, with lots of help from the line in the second half. Their run blocking was very encouraging.
Also, Killins is one of two running backs tied for the lead in longest run from scrimmage (87)

Hamilton is probably capable of being better between the tackles than Wilson but I think Frost is trying to limit the body blows he and Killins take early in the season

Wilson, when healthy, is really special. He was a shot in the arm in the second half, and the 35 yd TD run was a thing of beauty.

His longest run was 26 yards I believe before that and he hasn't run for that many yards overall. Really special is a bit of a reach, honestly.

Including that run, he's run for 600 yards in his career at 3.5 yards per rush.

I used to feel that way about him. Most of those yards were in his sophomore year when he was healthy. Guess I root for the underdog who paid his due, worked hard, and has really improved. He showed his worth against Michigan.

This I agree with! Nice of him to have battled through injuries, 0-12, bad line play, etc. Perserverance often pays off in the end.

He can't seem to stay on his feet. Falls forward a lot, which is fine for short yardage.

I saw him do that in his high school highlights too. It was nice to have a big moment to get excited about in the stands after sitting through blocked punts, blocked kicks, incomplete simple passes and a questionable ejection. This kid is special. Great get by Frost and I can't wait to see how he develops.

Loved the lean at the tape, I mean goal line.

Compare that to this former Tampa "clown" HS player in what he did at the Clemson game this weekend that nearly ended up costing the Tigers their narrow win vs Troy.

This Tampa fool was in such a rush to celebrate/pose for the fans...wish his mistake would have cost them the game.

A Frost recruited player most likely won't act like as ass. Killins is intelligent, mature, positive and a team player.
He's all business

"Mr. Get Missing" certainly lived up to the nickname against Michigan. Excited to see more of him in the future....and wondering why we didn't get the ball in his hands more against Michigan? With Tre Quan Smith, Hamilton, Payton, Snelson, Killins, Bargnare, Franks and Akins (who for some reason has not been part of this offense yet) we'll be in great shape....that is, if we can find a QB that can run this offense at a quicker tempo. We need to keep defenses off balance and a quicker tempo will accomplish this.
