Mom and dad probably were high school sweethearts, one came from a more affluent family than the other. Mom got knocked up around 19, but FC wasn't the first child. There was either a short marriage or just cohabitation that led to a 2nd child but either way both parents were too young and dad left. He started a new life and initially was present but the new wife demanded more attention so he basically walked away. Dad had a better relationship with the oldest kid and FC felt like he wasn't loved as much. It got worse when mom found a boyfriend when she was in her mid 20s but really didn't want to be involved in her kids' lives because that was their dads responsibility so he was standoffish and FC felt like step-dad took what love mom could give him and gave it to what was likely an alcoholic step-dad. He found that he wasn't terrible talented but could overperform and received acceptance from his peers. Likely was a smallish kid so focused on non-athletic things like band where he played trumpet or sax and was pretty good at it. That led to the popular kids giving him a chance but the first drinking party he had 2 beers and made an ass out of himself so he became very isolated and the rejection hit him pretty hard. Probably tried the EMO thing for a while but those kids gave him shit about his mom buying him Nofear t-shirts and wouldn't let him put on makeup because step-dad was uncomfortable and embarrassed. Ended up graduating in the upper half of his class, but nothing to brag about so went to community College for some kind of musical arts degree. Had sex with a couple of girls but felt like he was worth more than them so he had awkward breakups that led to a lot of guilt. Probably found a nice girl, kind of the "Sarah plain and tall" type that had some past issues of her own and they connected. Since then he's been moderately successful in his business but feels cheated by life because it took 20 years for dad to apologize and that made it worse. Mom is on her 4th marriage and he worries about her but has too much resentment to get over so he distances himself as much as possible. Sounds pretty sexist of you. What give you the right to assume he considers him/her/itself a man, and no matter the gender, wants a woman in his/her/its life.
