Knightline NOW: Baseball No. 23 Knights Beat The Wildcats 6-1 In Daytona

We play the Big 3 in March and then AAC. Let’s see how that goes to see if team is clicking or just beating nobodies.

No doubt ... it's still too early to know if 6 runs at BCU shows the bats are back ... or if the 3 hits in a 1-0 loss at Stetson one week earlier is closer to what the offense really is. TT

Saying we're ranked is quite a stretch. Baseball America must rank on potential. 4-3 after 7 games, with losses to Rice, Samford and Stetson shouldn't result in anybody being ranked. The Virginia win is nice, but then the other 3 wins are against Savannah State.

The Baseball America Rankings don’t change much from week to week. Plus I think they like the ACC and don’t want to drop UVA out of rankings just yet either. So them losing to a ranked UCF doesn’t hurt them as bad as unranked UCF.

Rice is consistently a baseball powerhouse and Stetson has always fielded an above average to very good baseball program. BCU is another good program.

Losing one run games to these programs in the early part of the season means nothing in the long run of the season.

Keep rolling and those early losses won't mean anything. Baseball is seeing the benefit of being pre-season ranked ... just like it helps all those P5 programs in football. TT

Rice got swept by someone.

They were swept at Stanford who is ranked #4 in the country. They are still a great program who was in a regional final last year and who makes a regional pretty much every year.
We make Regionals a lot too. Just get beat right there. Doesn’t make us good.

Over the past 20 years Rice has won 10 regionals and has been to Omaha 6 times. UCF has won 0 regionals ever. They are an excellent program. Not sure what you are arguing.
