kind of an interesting perspective of the issue.

No idea what level of this is true but its worth thinking about.

That's like saying you didn't know if Obama being born in Kenya was true but it was worth thinking about.

This kind of bullshit at this point is beyond ridiculous.

You guys are so damn lazy.

Objective
The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of cloth masks to medical masks in hospital healthcare workers (HCWs). The null hypothesis is that there is no difference between medical masks and cloth masks.

Conclusions
This study is the first RCT of cloth masks, and the results caution against the use of cloth masks. This is an important finding to inform occupational health and safety. Moisture retention, reuse of cloth masks and poor filtration may result in increased risk of infection. Further research is needed to inform the widespread use of cloth masks globally. However, as a precautionary measure, cloth masks should not be recommended for HCWs, particularly in high-risk situations, and guidelines need to be updated.

Says the Chud ignoring all the worldwide medical advice and posting bullshit like this with the prerequisite troll thread title.
Since you seem to be too arrogant about your position to watch the video, let me give you the cliffsnotes version since the whole purpose of the thread was to discuss this:

Your mouth contains enzymes that are a line of defense against viruses and bacteria. When you wear a mask, much of what you exhale goes out through the top of the mask and passes by your eyes, which have no natural protection from viruses and bacteria.

A good argument could be made that the only masks that people should wear are ones that have the metal clip that you can tighten down around your nose, which is what I wear.

Ya see, maybe instead of popping off about something and assuming intent, actually read what is posted or watch the shared video.

If the cloth masks are less effective than medical masks for HCWs, doesnt it stand to reason that it would be the same for everyone? I mean its awesome that companies are cashing in on this by selling decorative masks, but people should know that they arent doing as much good as an actual surgical mask.

It simple says that a surgical mask is better than a cloth mask, which hopefully we all knew. If you have a surgical mask, wear that. If you have a cloth mask, wear that.

Everyone knows that already.

A lot of people don't know that because we have gotten reports to the contrary just in the last few weeks. In fact, the WHO still says that cloth masks are better

I get the fact that you people want to act like you have all of the answers already but the rest of us like to discuss these things because the science obviously isn't settled.

He doesn’t even have access to an N95 mask?Never saw him wear one. Maybe I should lend that fraud one of my 30 [roll]
Mayo clinic won't let you wear an N95 mask into their clinics. You'll be required to take it off and put on one that they provide.

Good to know. Better tell Fraudci. Looks like he’s headed that way

You're just trolling -- and you and I both know it.
You're seriously dropping down to Ninja level responses. Do you have an opinion on how it might be possible that surgical masks can transfer the virus to your eyes? Or that cloth masks may not be as effective as advertised? Or any opinion at all other than everybody that doesn't agree with your paradigm is either trolling or full of bullshit?

What do you think about it? You're apparently in the medical field so that brings a lot of value to the discussion
Facial coverings are effective if they stop respiratory droplets, are well-sealed,you wash your hands. and if you don’t touch your hands to your face. Masks definitely work.

The best mask is also one that you feel comfortable in. You have to be able to breathe. Compliance matters.

I have one employee who ABSOLUTELY should have contracted Covid months ago, but she followed all the rules and tested negative. Symptom free. Regular surgical mask

So what about what the guy in the video was saying about passing it to your eyes? I thought that was pretty interesting. Are your eyes an easier entry for a virus like he says?

Nobody has all the answers. That's your problem. You want somebody to tell you the answers and be 100% correct, if that doesn't happen you want to toss out all the good advice. These are just educated guesses made by educated people.

I would have to say that there is no hard evidence of that.

My problem? It really isn't a problem, I just like discussing and learning about things like this as opposed to being told I'm stupid for not blindly accepting a theory from months ago that may be faulty. I wear a mask when required and have no problem with it. I have absolutely no idea whether it makes me or anybody else safer because the science isn't settled yet.

So is it just junk science? We've been told from the beginning to avoid touching our eyes, and the way he describes it makes sense.
Correct. I would not touch your eyes. It’s transmissible that way. However, it’s questionable that mode of transmission is more likely than the respiratory route. I wouldn’t think so, except that masks don’t cover your eyes

Using a 9 year old study is not really relevant for a new virus that spreads differently. There was another study that showed surgical masks prevented coronavirus in droplets and aerosol in all samples tested. It had a marginal effect on common influenza and rhinovirus.

Fair enough. On the flip side of that somebody here posted an article where people coughed into a petri dish with and without a mask and it showed that bacteria are trapped by a mask, which was used as an argument for masks. Influenza is much closer to coronavirus than bacteria, so should that be dismissed as well?

Sure if it makes you feel better. The study for coronavirus is probably the most relevant.

I’m sure there’s a blood CO2 buildup with wearing a mask 8 hours a day, but I’m not sure if that has any health implications. If it did, it would have certainly been out there already

That's why all surgeons die within the first 2 years of their career. You didn't hear about that? Well, it's because the deep state is keeping it a secret.
