Masks do more harm than good?

I’m sure there’s a blood CO2 buildup with wearing a mask 8 hours a day, but I’m not sure if that has any health implications. If it did, it would have certainly been out there already
Common sense would tell us that any kind of restriction to our breathing would lower our oxygen levels. I've got an oximeter so maybe I'll do an experiment on it this weekend for fun.

Common sense could tell us that masks prevent the spread of the virus too but that certainly hasn't stopped you from complaining about it.

Yeah, a stupid thread that brings up the topic of catching Covid via the eyes a week before fauci says we need to wear goggles.
Eye covers are some revolutionary new thing?

My daughter bought a transparent face guard to use along with her face mask months ago in preparation for a plane trip to join us in Colorado this Saturday.

You could have opened with that and responded initially with "I watched the video and read the article and my daughter is also concerned about catching the virus through her eyes" then discussed whether or not you think the doctor is correct or not and why.

That's why all surgeons die within the first 2 years of their career. You didn't hear about that? Well, it's because the deep state is keeping it a secret.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Neurosurgeons are wearing the same masks as a 60-80 year-old female with multiple health problems wearing a thick cloth mask issued by Humana.

The stupidity and impracticality of this forum never ceases to amaze me

Who's wearing a mask for 8 hours/day?
Real life people. This isn’t fantasyland.

Let’s see.., hmmm, just about everyone working. Health care workers, relators, people working in busy offices, servers, workers at Walmart, workers at Target, workers at Publix,

Need more examples?

A friend of mine on a different board posted this. I thought it was interesting.

"This is a bit anecdotal, but I will say it anyway. I live in Colombia, South America (Medellin to be exact). Since March 17th they have had social distancing, and a mandatory 2 week quarantine, 99.9% of the people have been wearing masks (can't remember the last time I saw a pretty señoritas face). No restaurants or bars open for seating, Each person, based on the last number of their state I.D. gets one day a week to go shopping and to the store. People have been restricted to one hour per day outdoor exercise and from Friday through Sunday is a complete quarantine. It is a police state. AND GUESS WHAT? Cases are continuing to grow and old, and sick people are still dying. This isn't working and it hasn't worked. Oh and one more thing. There havne't been any international flights into Colombia since March 20th and only a couple of humanitarian flights out for expats per month."

Any cases of mask induced asphyxia? Seems like with that much mask wearing there would be a case.

Anything that drops your blood-oxygen levels for a significant amount of time makes you more likely to get sick. Masks arent going to make you suffocate but if you wear one all day everyday its not healthy for your body.

(Question from the back row of Dr. Crazyhole’s presser.)
Doctor Crazyhole, how do you explain the significant difference between the U.S. coronavirus numbers and all those mask-wearing countries?

Strawman? Why do Sub-Saharan countries that don't have masks have a lower count than the countries that wears masks all of the time?

Regardless, you changed the subject. Masks help protect you from the virus but they also lower the quality of air that you breathe. Thats not a shocking or conspiratorial revelation, it's fact.

So comparing the U.S. to European and Asian countries that required masks during this pandemic is a straw man argument???!? o_O

Funny how your arguments work.

Hawaii has been under a 3 month mask mandate and yet they have a 700% increase in cases over that time.

For sure! It’s going to be one of those middle age joggers running with a mask in the 90 degree heat. That’s just common sense and dumb

Oh wait.., that probably goes under the category of cardiac arrest.

As far as asphyxia:

Asphyxia or asphyxiation is a condition of deficient supply of oxygen to the body that arises from abnormal breathing. An example of asphyxia is choking. Asphyxia causes generalized hypoxia, which affects primarily the tissues and organs.

I would have to say, acutely no. You would basically need a non-breathable mask and not
voluntarily take it off in distress. Maybe a person who was severely injured while wearing a mask

I would think that long term hypoxia could POTENTIALLY lead to cardiomegaly or cardiomyopathy

I'm going to pick a bone over this.

Nobody is going to suffocate because they are wearing a mask, being an acute instance. People are at risk of long-term chronic effects though. Its not any different than hydration, in that you can die from it in a short period of time if you don't have any water but you can also suffer long term effects of being chronically dehydrated without any major symptom, and that leads to other issues.

Just my opinion, but the 2 biggest things that people can do to prevent illness are 1. Deep breathing exercises that use the lower parts of the lungs (most people breathe in a very shallow manner), and 2. Hydrate far beyond what most of us do. Both practices cleanse the body of toxins and help maintain an alkaline body PH.
