Massey poll#1 in 11 polls

There is a poll that has us at #51. I just assumed it was some heifer running a poll from his basement. Confirmed it when I noticed the same poll had USF top 10 (their highest ranking).

Edit: it’s hosted on angelfire with the bools classic puke green color scheme.

How do I create my own poll? Can't be that hard if a cow figured it out

You can read how the poll works here: http://www.angelfire.com/or/teesee/explain/
It's fairly absurd as it factors in covering the spread, winning on the road vs home, a weird "top 10" rule that I stopped reading after.

The NCAA refuses to use any computer rankings in their national championship calculations unless it disregards info on margin of victory. That's why some proprietors of computer rankings generate a second ranking that ignore MOV data.

FIFY. The NCAA leans heavily on RPI (which is a form of computer rating) to pick the teams for the basketball tournament. In FCS they just use conference champions. The biggest coup the P5 pulled going from the BCS to the CFP was eliminating computers from the selection process. How many times did the computers force a Boise State to be picked and they won? We've already seen the playoff committee take Ohio State (who the computers would have told you was BS) in to get slaughtered... but they brought viewers and that's what matters.

Computers love UCF right now because our opponents are undefeated other than losing to us

But we're about to drop in the computer polls because Cincy and ECU suck so much their suckage is going to bleed into our computer ranking.

Yeah. Also the FIU and Maryland gravy train is going to come to an end. Those guys aren't going to finish the regular season 11-1.

FIU probably has a somewhat reasonable chance to go 8 wins- but then I doubt anyone in importance cares. Maryland's chances look ugly maybe win 1 or 2 times.

I was commenting strictly on this massey rating, which will definitely care, because it's a bunch of computers that don't know Alabama from South Alabama except for how many wins they have.
