On senior night, the Knights take on the Bearcats at Addition Financial Arena.

ORLANDO - The Knights hopes for reaching the NCAA Tournament are fading, so winning tonight’s contest is a must. UCF now focuses on securing a first round bye in the AAC Tournament.

UCF Men’s Basketball has been sporadic to say the least this season. A few big wins have been weighed down by disappointing losses. As of now, their record stands at 16-9 overall, and 8-7 in AAC play.

Kind of strange that Dre Fuller Jr. is being recognized tonight on Senior Night, he’s just a RS Junior. I get it, he’s a senior in school (fourth-year on the team). But he has at least one more year to play in the program (technically, he has two years left after this one with the free COVID year, although some are not using it…).

Maybe Fuller has already told UCF he’s not coming back?

I wouldn’t say invisible. They don’t beat Jacksonville or @East Carolina without Fuller Jr.’s contributions on that particular night.

His counting stats are down because his minutes are way down. He’s just a role player, but I trust him over a few of the guys Dawkins gives minutes to (and I wouldn’t call him invisible).

Darius Johnson starting to be assertive with assists and rebounds lately, and it shows in his stats. Hopefully, he just keeps building his skills. He could have a high ceiling.

Only one game, but the injury to Mahan could end up helping this team in a weird way. Not that he isn't a good player, but they had too many guys of similar skill level competing for minutes. Sometimes it's addition by subtraction.

He already has confidence and some strength to drive the lane and absorb contact and he will have his first offseason to improve his 3 pt shooting (which did improve during comf play) and FT shooting (must practice FT shooting when winded, just like in games).

Future is bright for this young 4 star player...hope he can finish out the season on the road strong.

Much more energy tonight, not only in spurts but for almost the whole game. Unlike previous games we countered Cinci's runs quickly and never got into a funk. If Johnny can coach them to consistently play this way, it will be a good end to the season. We win our remaining two road games, and we get a bye in the first round of the AAC tournament.

I been waiting for this performance all season. Hopefully they can continue with this continuity.

JD used a lot more bench this game...as Adams was back to his old self last night.

His early SLAM DUNK got his juices going...and he went 4-5 (including 2-3 from 3!), 2-2 from FT line (almost can't even remember his last FT attempt), as he finished with 12 pts, 2 assists (should have had at least 1 or 2 more but Diong missed a bunny at the hoop), a steal and 1 block shot...all in 14 mins.

Adams lead the team with a +15 in +/- as his energy was contagious.

2 more players off the bench were in the Top 3 in +/- with Freeman +13 (5 pts, FIVE assists in 19 mins) and Reynolds with +11 (7 pts, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) in 13 mins.

Yes, he did...not sure why or how but he needs to rinse and repeat for the remainder of the season. Based on his performance YTD, I've gotta see it to believe it.
