Bianchi:
"Malzahn has said many times that he plans to retire at UCF, but what happens if he wins nine or 10 games this year and the job opens up in Arkansas, where coach Sam Pittman is unquestionably on the hotseat? Would Malzahn leave UCF to return to a home-state school where he once played?
Maybe he would if he felt UCF’s fan base doesn’t appreciate his efforts. And there certainly is still that unrealistic segment of fans who believe the back-to-back unbeaten seasons in 2017-18 under Scott Frost and Josh Heupel should be the norm instead of the aberration. We saw the culmination of this unrealistic mindset in 2019, when Heupel had the audacity to only win 10 games and was ripped for it by many of those in UCF’s Twitter mafia."
