The naming rights deal that Brandon mentioned in the other thread was going to be 35M over 15 years. It would have been the largest deal/gift in UCF history and, as Brandon mentioned, would have been the 3rd largest in college sports.
Apparently what happened is someone on the UCF Foundation Executive Committee leaked it to legislators and Insurance lobbyists. The votes from the UCF Foundation Executive Committee vote were 2 votes no, 1 abstained, and the rest were yes votes.
Those legislators then threatened the BOT and that’s why meeting was delayed.
Its unbelievable that someone within our own UCF foundation Executive committee would help kill the deal.
