Everybody knew this day would come.

When there's a change at the top of a football program, it's a given that most assistant coaches would be let go. That's already occurred here, though Sean Beckton and Travis Fisher may be retained by Scott Frost. That situation is still in a lot of ways unclear in regards to their future roles and whether they'll have a permanent position, but Beckton and Fisher are today still part of the staff and did recruit these past couple weeks.

Just like assistant coaches, the jobs of support staff are always in question when there's a change. That's what happened today.

I heard about two names this morning, then a third name, and was fairly quickly able to confirm the first two through a direct source, then wanted to wait to make sure there weren't others involved that I didn't hear about.

I have been told via multiple sources that the following staff were told today that their contracts would not be renewed. In other words, they would be let go.

-Ed Ellis, Director of Strength & Conditioning
-Robert Jones, Director of Equipment Operations
-Kristy Belden, Director of Player Development

They may still be on the job until their contracts run out, or they can find another job elsewhere. I've heard Jan. 31 might be the contract end date, but I'm not sure if that's the date for all three (I know it is at least for one of them). I think that's just contract language though, I do not expect any of them to remain in the building for very much longer.

While I was trying to confirm this information, Belden posted to Twitter her goodbye.

I have asked about other staff, but am told these are the only three departures, at least for now.
