People who watch the Media are literally this. The Media is analyzing and, ultimately, lying virtually all-the-time, instead of reporting. Reporting the truth has long been lost, because they don't have to.
Mob mentality destroys livelihoods, especially via Media.
I.e., if there was one difference between the DNC and GOP conventions, it was that the GOP put up a bunch of everyday people with no interest in politics getting destroyed by the US Media for breathing on their own property, or doing nothing in a public area. The DNC put up a bunch of political advocates who have a long history, if not violent, criminal records. As a pro-criminal justice reform Libertarian advocate like Rand Paul, I couldn't believe the DNC put up violent offenders instead of non-violent offenders!
As I've said from Day 1 here, the DNC started scaring me more than the GOP, when it came to civil liberties, ever since they threw Miller in jail back over 15 years ago. I used to fear the GOP more. But both need to go. I only credit the GOP for trying to reach the little guy more now, especially the ones destroyed by the Media. But they are still not the solution. Fox News can be just as damaging, but they usually go after politicians and people already being political.
