Nebraska people in here

It actually sounds kind of nice. If only my wife could tolerate some cold, I'd move out of Florida. With everyone else moving in, I'd love to get out...this state is turning into a shithole.
About 10 years ago I was on business in LA and went to the Nebraska-USC football game at the Coliseum. The Coliseum was an absolute sh*thole of a stadium located in a less-than-desirable area of the city. If losing the game wasn't bad enough, I was then stuck in a late night traffic jam after the game for over two hours.

The next day at my hotel a local asked me where I was from and I said Nebraska. His response was, "Nebraska?" with a tone of voice that smacked, "Why there?" I smiled and simply replied that's where my job was. But inside I was thinking, "You deal with this God damned traffic every day and you ask me THAT?" With the exception of the beach, I had every damn thing he had in SoCal but without any of the pain and suffering to get it.

I'm not a huge fan of suburbs or the city. I currently live in a semi-rural area but development is encroaching. I just have to keep moving further and further out to maintain the type of living I enjoy. It sucks.

You’re missing out on the celebrity-worship, the high-end shopping, the gangs and gang wars, rampant homelessness, anti-vaxxers, the porn industry, and on and on. Of course, you’re also missing surfing and skiing in the same day, the mountains, true ethnic communities, places that you see in the movies and on tv that you frequent, etc.

Then again, I guess you do have celebrity-worship since deify your 18-22 year old college football players.
