I think popcorn chicken is overrated, but ...
Publix's chicken tenders are a 9.5 on a 10-scale, and their popcorn chicken are a 7 -- and that's extremely high for popcorn chicken on my scale.

Best chicken 'fingers' (more like 'feet') I've ever had was Hen Penny.
Damn those gave me the ultimate gall bladder attack after too (I stupidly ate 5 after no other food that day).
Unfortunately they closed mid last December, just as I was hitting them once per week.

When I get back to NYC, I'm going to hit them again.

Publix is awesome. Clean and they take care of their employees. They have a great retirement plan, often promote loyal employees and managers can make 6 figures
I wish I worked THERE prior to graduating college instead of all the other crap jobs out there

We know one of the store managers at our local Publix. She started as a bagger in HS and continued working at Publix while going to college; eventually realized she had better prospects by just working her way up at Publix faster and quit school to do that.

She's now maybe mid 30's and makes a ton of money, has significant stock in the company, gets treated really well, etc. She'll probably be "the" head manager soon, then move to a bigger store, or go into distribution or the Corporate office in Lakeland.

It's a great company.

There is no “other” option for a bathroom so clearly they’re bigots. They also sell baby food and supplies so they’re pushing the radical pro-life agenda.

I wish Publix would just team up with Chick-fil-A (tell me a counter in the deli wouldn't be awesome) and remove all doubt that they hated these marginalized groups. Pump a little Christian Rock throughout the store, train the stockers and baggers to say, "It's my pleasure!" a la CFA, and we're set. It would also give me an alternative to the shitty Publix chicken tenders.

I will say their is one redeeming quality about runza: at least they have the honesty to name their product after what will be coming out of your back end 30 minutes after eating one.

They support Progressive politicians more than Conservative politicians.

So when the young socialist lambasted Publix for their fiscal support of a handful of Conservative politicians, it caused Publix to yank all funding, including their majority of Progressive politicians. I would have loved to have been a fly on that wall when that decision was made!
