Just go ahead and put her in the White House. She figured out how to use Twitter so it's a foregone conclusion. And yes, I realize that would make her the left's equivalent of Trump in that respect.

Freshman Congresswoman and meme queen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is headed to Netflix. The streaming service said this week that it has snapped up “Knock Down the House,” a Sundance award-winning documentary profiling the campaigns of four female progressive candidates, including Ocasio-Cortez, in the 2018 midterm election.

Netflix is spending $10 million to secure the film, a price that — if true — would make it the most expensive Sundance documentary deal to date.

This country is in big trouble. When reality and facts mean nothing, but being loud and obnoxious gets you airtime, followers, and attention...we all lose.

The President is a reality TV Star who was elected for being loud and obnoxious. And now a Congress woman who lives in her own little bubble is getting a Netflix special for being loud and obnoxious on the other side.

Talk is cheap, but meme culture carries weight. And we’re seeing it more and more and it’s really sad.

i agree with most of it except that trump was elected for being loud and obnoxious being the reason he got elected. i think it was more of him standing up to a media that has torn republicans down for simply being republicans and he was willing to fight back instead of take it. i also think people saw him as a successful business man and he wasnt hillary clinton.

AOC is not getting a "Netflix special" (as it relates to this thread). A film was produced in which she was one of the subjects. That film was produced by Jubilee Films (Robin Blotnick and Rachel Lears) and the production was financed primarily through Kickstarter. Jubliee Films then submitted the film for entry into Sundance. At Sundance it won an award. Like most, if not all, documentaries and fictional films that win awards at Cannes, Sundance, TIFF, Tribeca Film Festival, et al, that aren't already privy to widespread distribution (e.g., independent films, etc.), "new" distribution channels such as Netflix, Hulu and traditional distribution channels such as Annapurna, HBO, Sony, Magnolia, et al, will buy the distribution rights. At Sundance last year (2018) there were 22 films acquired by some of the aforementioned companies for U.S. distribution.

I'm not a fan of AOC, but I think this documentary sounds interesting.

Interesting, no. Fictional, most likely.

I know I'm only 41, but I've learned through the years that I can find interest in things I disagree with. I didn't agree with Jeffrey Dahmer, but I've found documentaries about him to be interesting. I didn't agree with George Wallace, but I've found documentaries about him to be interesting. I didn't agree with Osama bin Laden, but I've found documentaries about him to be interesting.

I wonder if they'll highlight the fact that the loudest "new progressive women" in Congress this year are socialists and anti-Semites?

It’s not a laughing matter and while she is a bucket of rocks, her policies are something g to take serious due to the youth out there. There are plenty of things we thought ignorant and foolish in the 80’s that are policy today.
