New 2022 UCF Uniforms

I like the ones from the first look, month or so ago, better.

#3 is the best. I'm kind of underwhelmed, but not really that big a deal. Had thought just use last years and have some kind of exciting blowout for XII (but that could backfire and just look silly, for example- any usf uni).

Wouldn't have minded a gold pant but I figured with that fabric you'd have the same problem with it being on the jersey and being pee gold.

With the white jersey I wouldn't have minded the new knight head on the sleeve. That way we still have one Jersey with a nod to the Pegasus logo.

Always thought we could have done more with the pants (i.e. chain mail even if it was subtle).

Honestly the third one looks like Army's uniforms, should have outlined the letters in white or something.

Agree with 80s Knight, it's not a big deal as I'm just nitpicking. We were due for a update. Can't wait to see them on the field!

All this stuff just keeps reminding me that we don’t have any recent game quality embroidered jerseys available to us. I still have to wear the circa 2007 gold colored versions.....damn this sucks.

To begin, uniform design should belong to ALL of the University, including alumni (it's called tradition). Really top-notch schools keep their uniforms the same, i.e., Georgia, LSU, Auburn, to name but a few. Georgia Tech used to keep the same uni (home and away, they had a white jersey) but no more; they suck athletically and voila, mix and match unis. For UCF - Home Gold pants with white and black stripes down the side, black jerseys with white numbers and gold and black trim; Away - Black pants, white jerseys with black numbers and gold and black trim on the sleeves. Gold helmets home and away with Pegasus on the side.

Im pretty sure the B 12 logo is a go. Gus was wearing shirts with it. None of our sports can host a championship do i guess this is our middle finger to them. Will help in recruiting too. The black with gold numbers is fire.

Yea, just little hints of anthracite. TM didn't like how it made the look "inconsistent" with the brand. Specifically mentioned the gray pants worn against UC last year as a color that is not a brand color.

Watch the video with JJB and Celiscar at the top of the thread and go to the 2:20 mark… You will see Gold pants.

So from what I saw, Army is getting new uniforms this year and we got some of their old jerseys. The all black, at least the jerseys, look like what Army has been wearing for the past few years. For a school that has cool unis, this is kind of a letdown. I mean Army is the Black Knights. So they basically went really creative and said what do we already have. Thanks! Is this Phil Knight thumbing his nose at us?

What’s the latest with our uniform contract? Maybe Nike is punishing us with these new numbers

I like them. I think they’re cleaner than before and that they’ll look great on the field.

Is it a game changer from the ones from
Before? No - These are good, those were good too.

Don't mind them. I prefer more details in the design but these look clean. I'm hoping we only wear these for the short-term deal then get a big upgrade in design with the new long-term deal.

i mean it looks like we're fully committed to anthracite with the football facilities though. that's all you can see in the background of the practice photos and videos.

I always thought Nike sends a rep snd sits with our people and gives options and ideas. We give our wants and needs and they try to incorporate them. I don’t know if its a blank slate. If Gus wanted crazy Oregon stuff i think they’d accommodate. Id guess he likes the cleaner look.

Based on the videos yesterday these were designed in-house by UCF. Obviously some limits based on the Nike template, but its mostly our designing.

To be honest I didn't feel the uniforms needed a refresh outside the underlying template, but the athletic dept did. The uniforms are fairly simple now, which I understand keeps it "clean" but I think in recent marketing/branding in sports there is a tendency to go simple almost to a fault. Some detail is good. Going to miss the gray shades too, but understand their logic that other B12 teams have gray alts that look bad or are off brand. Black & gold is our brand, but to counter grayscale compliments black/white/gold significantly better than red/purple/blue/green etc.

Also get the desire to have a unique font that isn't a rehash of Mich St, and I won't be surprised if we see a significant athletics branding redesign in the next 5-10 years. Overall I'd say I'm satisfied with the uniforms not in love, but ultimately I think these are holdovers for the next contract.

Simple/clean is lazy. Just like the graphic designer who did the “Avatar” logo. He just highlighted the text and selected papyrus.

In my opinion, white, gray, and black are fair game for any team that wants to use them. And since one of our primary colors is black anthracite and pewter seemed like good fits to me.

Don't know why I never thought of it, but DAMN chain main on the pants even just a line, sort of like the Temple broken line they did, would be awesome. GREAT IDEA
