New HC will be named Monday

My worry is that Malzahn agreed to leave by resigning rather than having to be fired as long as Terry agreed to making an in house hire, rather than bringing in an all new coaching staff.

Liberty QB just hit the portal.
Interesting. Two of their offense linemen are also going in behind him.

In other news I like Rich Rod to return to WVU

Looks like Chadwell. Not the best IMO, but just glad it isn’t Kinne. Would’ve preferred a P4 OC or Sumrall.
Sumrall would have been my number one, but I won’t be upset with Chadwell. I want to stay away from coordinators right now. In this age of CFB with NIL and the portal it’s important for a coach to understand all the ins and outs of everything going on. Not sure a coordinator would have experience with all this. Right now I think it’s really important to get a coach with head coach experience managing so many systems.

Why are we waiting?

Radio Silence is deafening. Just being rhetorical here.

Can you imagine all the phone calls and meetings taking place on the hiring and negotiation process.
All signs point to Caldwell. We've got to have him (Caldwell) meet with the powers that be (and probably the biggest donors). It seems we flew him in yesterday so it will take a day or so to get all that done. If it's a green light with agreement on terms, it'll be announced immediately. The Liberty QB and some other starters will probably be coming in, but we'll also need to stop our guys from declaring. And we need to work to pull some of the guys who declared back into the program. Unfortunately, our HS recruiting class will be significantly impacted but maybe we can save a few of them. 2025 will be a big challenge. The O will score points, but the D will be a challenge. But it is what it is, and we need to get it done now. https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-ucf-moves-swiftly-set-to-hire-jamey-chadwell

Liberty's best wins were against Western Kentucky and East Carolina. Lost to Kennesaw State (2-10), Sam Houston (QB went 12-35 with 2 ints), needing overtime to beat FIU and UMass (2-10)

QB had good TD-INT ratio, but his completion percentage is pretty bad at 56% particularly against some weak teams.

I am not the biggest Chadwell fan bc saw he runs an offense that is run run run but maybe I can get nerd breakdowns on why it is more creative than Gus’s and stops wasting WRs

Liberty was paying him $4 Million a year, not exactly poor program status. He could be fine, but his rising status diminished this year.
He may indeed be fine but is this really the best we could do? Is there a connection between TikTok Terry and Caldwell?
