New HC will be named Monday

I remember back in 2016 it was speculated we would hire dino babers and then out of left field we landed frost. Theres alot of smoke and mirrors this time too it seems

Would imagine each candidate is interviewing with multiple schools. Obviously a lot of money out there, and for some this could be there only big payday.

Malzahn losing at UCF takes some shine off the program, along with UF and FSU struggling the idea of a Florida school being a goldmine is not what it used to be. Coaches want deep pockets from school and alumni like Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, Colorado since players want the money and less concerned about 'staying home'.

BREAKING: UCF is in Contact with Scott Frost

There have been plenty of rumors about the possibility of Scott Frost returning to UCF. This morning a source confirmed that there have been discussions between the two sides.
What a stupid mistake this would be.....

I don't understand this thinking. How about thinking about what he accomplished at UCF in 2 years and not about what he did at Nebraska. He was absolute magic at UCF. Even 2016 was exciting and we finished the regular season 6-6 a year after finishing 0-12.

The players loved Frost. They still do! I can absolutely see lightning striking twice if he returns. The excitement would be just as high as it was when he was hired the first time. With players, recruits, alumni, and fans alike.

I want you non believers to remember the moment in that locker room when he told the players he was going home. I remember how many tears were shed. He didn't want to leave. You could hear the pain in his voice.

You can't blame that man for going home. Especially when his father was ailing. I lost mine suddenly last year. I absolutely would have done the same in his shoes. Give the man a second chance. He more than deserves it.

A wise man once said "you are only as good as your last job". There are MANY good reasons he hasn't had a sniff at a HC job in almost 3 seasons, He hasn't completed a redemption path.....WHY would you trust OUR program to the guy just based on memories that stopped 7 years ago.

If he REALLY wanted to be a HC, he could have secured a G5 job and showed people he has redeemed himself. Remember, it wasn't that he didn't recruit well or made mistakes during games, his failure went much deeper than that. Even a guy from Neb posted last night it would be a mistake. WE CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER MISTAKE AT THIS TIME. Let him complete his redemption arc somewhere else.

If I'm not mistaken, he's had opportunities to lead other programs but he wasn't interested. I'm flattered that he wants to come back to UCF. It proves the love was genuine. He'd be here for the long term this time. In 2017, I believed Nebraska was the only school that could poach him away cause you could tell he loved UCF.

How do you or I KNOW what he really wants as a future? He is probably a completely different person now. He not only ran a program into the ground, but chucked his family aside.

I'm not aware he has had ANY HC offers since Neb. If you do, please post them.

And if his love for us was so genuine, why did he deny our National Championship at every opportunity?

Jajaja…this “Willie” character is something else.

It's so hard to catch lightning in a bottle twice. I love Frost just worries me that he's been out of the college game and had a very rough stretch after he left. Honestly the time he was hired the players where over the hard nose old school football coach and the buy in was 100%. Would that happen now? Some boosters love the idea of Frost though and they really do steer the ship. Former players are very vocal about his return and that says a lot.

I honestly think they have something with the Tulane coach and is waiting until after the AAC Championship game to announce it.

This is my hope.

This is true for anyone that was following the program closely in 2017. Just said it in the other thread. Marc Daniels hinted at it at the time.
