New NLCS thread

What are you guys crying about? I've said my team got spankes by Chciago. It doesnt make this ass kicking any less enjoyable to me. It also doesn't detract from the fact that the Cards still World Series rings to look at every night.

Amazing that there have been no posts in this thread after a sweep. Not really a baseball fan but I do enjoy watching Chicago teams lose and Yankee fans having to watch the Mets win.

The Cubs will be back next year. This is just the beginning...

Lol

Did the Mets even break a sweat?

LMAO!!!! 85 is on his honeymoon, but he still finds time to talk shit about the Cubs. He still can't get the taste of Chicago's ass out of his mouth after they killed the tards.

The Cubs played with house money this year. They routinely started four rookies and two other guys under the age of 26. They weren't supposed to compete until next year and somehow won 97 games. They need some help, however, in the back end of their rotation. I think they might make a run at Greinke and another good bat. I really feel this team has some great days ahead.

Now go like have a mimosa or something with your wife, 85.

The Pirates will make offseason moves as well, the Nationals underperformed this year and the Dodgers will spend more money to get better. The Cardinals and Giants will still be major talents and the Mets will still exist. It won't be easy for the Cubs to repeat, but they could.

It doesn't matter. In two years, the Braves will lock down the NL for the next decade.

The Dodgers are going to lose Greinke. The Pirates? Please. The Nationals are a joke.

The Cubs have more money to spend than just about every team in baseball and it really isn't close.

The Braves? LMMFAO.

EDIT*** Don Mattingly just stepped down as LA's skipper.

If the Dodgers lost Greinke, they would replace him with another big money arm. Having money to spend doesn't mean anything. The Padres spent a ton in the offseason. The Nats are a joke, but a talented one with a great rotation and the best hitter in the NL.

The days are indeed dark when a Cubs fan can laugh at the Braves. Nevertheless, I stand by my assertion that the Braves will be contenders in 2017.

Having money to spend with a guy like Theo Epstein holding the strings does mean a lot. He has proven time and time again that he spends wisely and will not mortgage the franchise with players who can't contribute. The Cubs don't need much. Their core is outstanding and like I said, they need an arm and a bat (or two). Plus, they have trade bait with Castro or Baez since Russell clearly is the SS of the future.

LOL @ the Braves locking down the NL East. The Mets are a fairly young club and Harvey's contract is through 2018. If they resign Murph and can keep Cespedes, they will be top dog for a few years. The Nats are loaded with talent too, the Braves will be lucky to stay ahead of the Phils!

Oh and hell of a run Cubs fans, everything is clicking for the Mets now and are gonna be tough to beat in the World Series!

As soon as the Mets took out LA, I knew the Cubs were in trouble. Good arms beats good bats every day. And the Mets also found their bats after the trade deadline and never looked back. They made the right moves and are playing great. What a change it was from May and June. I saw the Cubs go 7-0 against them during that time and I'm not quite sure people understand how horribly shitty their hitting was then. Didn't they strand 25 runners in an 18-inning game against the Cards at one point?

Ahhh, the hubris of Mets fans. As soon as they start winning they crawl out of their homes like cock a roaches.

I was still a little skeptical of the Mets going into the post-season (losing the series to the Yanks, the Braves and even getting swept by the Phillies), but it was definitely clicking against the Dodgers. The Mets also started off the season real hot and floundered a bit, and the Cubs took care of business early against them. Management made some great moves and the young pitchers really came on, and you knew that it was a different team this series (although I didn't expect a sweep). They did win that marathon game against the Cards, but yes, stranding that many runners is insane and shows where hitting was at the time.

Daniel Murphy's run in the post-season has been nothing short of amazing (14 HRs in the regular season and now 6 consecutive post-season games with one). The Cubs certainly appear to have a good young nucleus and will most certainly be back, I'm hoping the Mets can hold things together (find a way to keep both Murphy and Cespedes) although I'm not sure they do. Pitching should be strong for NY for the foreseeable future though.

Now that the fact my wife is from KC, we are trying to decide if we can catch one of these World Series games in person (I'm still of the assumption of course that KC wins in Game 6 at home)!

The Cubs losing on my vacation is just an added benefit. The beer tastes even better!
