New Strength and Conditioning Coach

Just saw this…

I hope it’s a great hire. I just get a concerned when Gus just hires “his guys”. Having too many YES men around you doesn’t lead to growth. Comfort yes, Growth…no.
Yeah, I'm also concerned about only hiring "his guys." It definitely stifles growth, new ideas, vision and change. I have seen it most prevalent when leadership lacks self confidence.

Listen you fellas can't have it both ways. (Well, I guess you can actually.) This dude is technically as much of a hypeL guy as a Gus guy. He coached under Tennessee S&C coach Kurt Schmidt for three years.

Ain't like the cat never coached before and Gus just pulled him off the streets (like Carnell Williams, Travis Williams, Kam Martin, et al).

Anthony Kincy, assistant football sports performance director, highlighted how unique the Knoxville experience is and how it constantly benefits football recruiting.

“I’ve been here for three years now, and it seems like every year I’ve been here there’s some famous country singer on Rocky Top,” Kincy said. “That’s huge, and from a recruiting aspect, it’s like, man, you have these famous people that are right on the sideline during the games, so that’s cool.”

I was providing evidence that Kincy was employed as an actual coach when Gus hired him away. The Williams guys and Martin had never coached anywhere significant before when Gus hired them at Auburn.

Confused…, is he an actual S&C guy or that’s his title, but doesn’t have an actual S&Cbackground/resume?

It's semantics.

He is the S&C coach.

Kincy trained under Ryan Russell, who has done a masterful job at Missouri. Gus wants to hire Russell back, but cannot afford him.

2) You better have a good strength coach. "He's got to understand you're lifting for football," Kill said, pointing to the fact that New Mexico State suffered no major injuries in his two years as proof of the difference between lifting to endure the rigors of a football season and lifting to look good on Instagram. Kill also claimed to have welded a squat rack himself at a previous stop.
this made me think of Duval's time here.

The new strength coach does bring an interesting background to UCF.

He learned an emphasis on CrossFit training from former Auburn and current Missouri S&C coach Ryan Russell and a professional approach, with an emphasis on running, from Tennessee's Kurt Schmidt.

Will be interesting to see the results of Kincy meshing the two philosophies.
