- Must maintain a 2.5 grade point average
- Must receive a full physical examination by a doctor to try out
- Must provide own medical insurance
- Must be enrolled in 12 hours at the university of Houston Main Campus
- Must be registered and cleared with the NCAA Eligibility Center www.eligibilitycenter.org
- Must be certified as a final qualifier and complete final amateurism certification
