Now we have a big plot twist - Junior and the Russians say the meeting was regarding info that the DNC was accepting Russian money, which is VERY illegal.

It sounds plausible but it raises a few questions:

Something like this (even as rumor) would totally destroy the Democrats, yet the Trump campaign just lets it go? I mean, you want to talk bombshell - that would do it. That's a pretty 'HOLY SHIT" moment IYAM. I would think there would be some digging going on into it at the very least, not a "lost interest."

Second, it's brought up now as just another layer of the onion, so it raises skepticism of its veracity. The cover ups have gone (in the span of a week) from "I didn't meet with the Russians" to "Ok I met with them but didn't get anything and didn't know what the meeting was about" to "OK I knew what the meeting was about but still didn't get anything" to now "OK I got something, but they couldn't back up their bombshell claim, and we just didn't bother looking into it." Why is this coming to light now? Is it another cover up?

If the claim is true, I actually applaud the Trump campaign for not running with an unsubstantiated rumor. It's just the story has changed so many times, I can't just believe that it's true now.

I thought they talked about adoption of Russian children and that Manafort and/or Kushner were playing with their phone during the meeting. I'll just wait and see what they say next (after the next leak)

I always take a skeptical viewpoint in politics because there's always a narrative that's been crafted to influence voters.

To me, there's more questions and hopefully they come up and get addressed.
-The link between the Russian Lawyer and Fusion GPS is intriguing and I hope the Senate Judiciary Committee touches on it. With a cursory look, it appears she's playing both sides in the Political Oppo sphere. Fusion GPS created the Trump dossier and were previously hired by Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton's campaigns. They could be completely separate and it's just a coincidence but they're linked in a lot of stories related to Trump and Russia which makes me question whether there's more to it.

Yeah, this is an interesting story. They were able to get a warrant which means probable cause. I read a post on Reddit from a white-collar investigator that this typically occurs when there's documentation known to exist through other means (i.e. Department of Treasury) that is not produced in the document requests. This leads to suspicion that they are hiding something. The "predawn" part is just to ensure nothing is destroyed.

It's interesting this occurred on July 26, the day after Manafort met with the Senate Intelligence Committee investigators. I'd guess they're looking for financial statements related to foreign transactions. There was probably some inkling of it in the tax documentation from the Treasury but Manafort did not produce it with the other documents provided.

There is a lot of US Media chatter on this, but I'm still trying to understand what the gov't really has. We probably won't know for a long time either.

In any case ... I'm all 100% for transparency in government, and going after people who don't display it. Trump et al. has been just as stupid as the Clinton in lack of transparency, especially over conflicts-of-interest, and I warned my Conservative friends about that when Trump was elected.

It will be interesting to watch, when the facts actually do come out, and it's not just endless US Media speculation.
