I was actually trying to google plant city strawberries because I like them and the ones in Publix suck. But I came upon the strawberry festival and then I started looking at their music lineup for 2025 between the end of Feb beginning of March.

2 that caught my eye were Lynard Skynyrd and The Beach Boys. I was fortunate enough to see Skynyrd back when I was 15-16 just before the plane crash, the only time I saw The Beach Boys was the UCF vs Wofford homecoming when we had fun fun fun until wofford took the homecoming away. Even at that time The Beach Boys weren’t the same, I can’t imagine they are any better now. There are some big names coming to Lakeland for the festival, Reba, Boys II Men, John Fogarty (the one I’m most interested in) and others.

Not that long ago I saw Boston and they had a girl doing a lot of the lead vocals, I saw Styx, I’ve seen other 60s/70s band and most of them seem to have maybe one or two original members and they have all been meh. How do you guys feel about going to see bands that don’t have most of the original members? Do you bother? I just don’t anymore.

On a related subject, have any of you been to the Strawberry Festival for a show? I can still get seats for John Fogarty but they are in the rear section not up front. Curious how big the place is, how far away I’ll be.
