I recently picked up a Ring door cam from Amazon, and ended up returning for a couple of reasons:
Just curious if there are any door cameras that might help address each of these issues? In particular I'd like something where I can tweak the proximity sensor; I don't really care to see everyone walking by. I do want to see if someone is right at my door.
- I was getting way too many notifications (I live on the 1st floor of an apartment complex, so people are constantly walking through). I did turn down one of the sensitivity settings so that it has a 'cool down' so that it wasn't constantly sending notifications, but then I ended up actually missing maintenance entering our apartment after knocking on the door.
- No easy way to recharge without removing the camera from its mount, bringing it inside, and charging (hadn't had to do this yet, but would eventually have to)
- Subscription fatigue - I would prefer not to pay yet another monthly subscription fee; once the free trial elapsed, the ring camera is virtually useless except for the "live view" feature
